U.S. Election: Mitt Romney still can’t seem to get voters to like him (A RINO's Lament...)
Toronto Star ^ | 3/19/12 | Mitch Potter

-snip-

Romney’s enduring lack of appeal is again making headlines anew, as politicos ponder new favourability ratings that suggest Romney may well be the most unpopular likely presidential nominee ever.

-snip-

That enthusiasm gap extends even to Romney’s own supporters in Illinois, where one prominent backer, former GOP congressman Bob Michel, openly lamented the absence of breakaway momentum for Romney.

“He’s not overwhelming, that’s the problem through this whole damn primary,” Michel told Politico. “What’s the spark? What’s the thing that gets him off and running? No one knows.”

I don’t think there has ever been a Republican candidate who has been so negative against his fellow contenders as Romney either.

Although I doubt if Mr. Romney will be in such an attack mode against Obama if he gets the nomination.

He is nothing more than a McCain/Northeastern Republican running on Daddy’s business connections and for those of us who know of Northeastern Republicans they can do 3 things:

1)Drink wine
2)Eat Cheese
3)Lost national elections

Enoug said right there as to why no real Conservative like or would pull the lever for him.

That’s why so many people hate the s.o.b. Had he ran a clean campaign and won, we could, “possibly” have backed him. But, he has been such a low-life scumbag.

He needs to lie harder and state that he is conservative and hates socialism.

That's because Romney is a RINO with a history of Massachusetts liberalism and well over half the GOP is conservative. The audacity of shoving the Obamacare architect up our rears really doesn't excite the base.

I don't like any pol. I just want them in prison. The mutt has already won. That said, remember that they work for and represent us. At present they are working for their reelection committee.

He’s a soulless, self-important, prig.

I can’t stand Newt and I’d vote for Newt a gazillion times before this “thing”.

Old Mittens is a train wreck waiting to happen, if he got the nomination the media would have a field day with his Mormonism and the by the time they got through with him, he is going to look like a cross between a Klan leader and a member of Heaven Gate. Trust me on that one!

You must not be familiar with work of former Congressman Bob Michel. He INVENTED "not overwhelming."

Michel was the go-along to get-along Minority Leader Newt had to eviscerate to get the GOP the House. Michel was perfectly content to stay in the minority forever so long as he could sing in the Congressional Barber Shop Quartet.

You've heard of a "man's man?" Michel is a "RINO's RINO." A truly loathsome human being.

Good Question:

Why is he backing Obama?

Because the leadership tells him to?

Romney sucks.

The real funny part of all this is just how fast the MSM would turn on Mitt the second — heck the NANOSECOND — he becomes the Republican nominee.

If you think the anti-Mormon stuff is bad now, just wait. It always happens. It will be McCain ten times worse because they are totally committed to the Obama regime and will treat any threat the same way or worse.

Mitt needs to wake up and smell the Sanka. He could spend his entire fortune plus every dime he could beg, buy or steal, and would not get people to like him. If it hasn’t happened now, it won’t.

That’s cuz he’s a lying, cheating, backstabbing, self serving, chameleon who will say anything to advance his political avarice answer and historical relevance.

I’ve noticed that within the last few such posts, there has been a paucity of Romney defenders (or as someone else called them Romnians). Could there be some basis for what detractors are saying?

Romney is running for the Republican nomination. He’s a Democrat, but he claims to be Republican. What does this have to do with your point that he’s so negative against his fellow contenders? He has to go negative, because he can’t run on his Democrat record in a Republican primary. Going negative is all he’s got.

If even Republicans aren’t endorsing Romney, why should anyone expect America to vote for him this November?
