In Illinois, Romney grinds away with attacks on Santorum
Miami Herald ^ | March 18, 2012 | Paul West

CHICAGO -- In the latest indication that momentum is nonexistent in the Republican presidential contest, Mitt Romney won a victory in Puerto Rico on Sunday and worked toward another in Illinois on Tuesday, results that would quash Rick Santorum's efforts to build on primary successes last week in Alabama and Mississippi.

On Sunday, the candidates were traveling down very different campaign paths. Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, made stops across Illinois, including in conservative areas downstate where Santorum is expected to show strength. Santorum, meantime, skipped ahead to campaign in Louisiana, which votes this weekend.

Until recently, Santorum appeared to have a good chance of winning Illinois, the second-most populous state to vote so far this year, behind Florida. He's urged his Illinois supporters to help him forge an upset that "can shake up this race like no state can shake it up" and turn the campaign "completely on its head."

But the Romney forces have been grinding Santorum down, as they have elsewhere, with nonstop attack ads that the underfinanced challenger appears powerless to overcome. Statewide polling that once showed a tight race is now tilting Romney's way.

Romney and the "super PAC" supporting him have spent more than $3.6 million on advertising in Illinois, compared with just over $500,000 for Santorum and his super PAC, according to figures provided by a Democratic source with access to media-buying information. Most of that money has gone into anti-Santorum ads in the Chicago media market, which reaches more than half of the Republican primary electorate.

Romney doing what Romney does best. It's amazing that Santorum is doing as well as he is with so little funds, and it's a testament to the voters not liking Romney that he can't put it away by outspending his opponents by large margins. I do hope that if he winds up with the nomination, though, he'll be as hard on Obama.

McCain is scheduled to campaign for Romney in the Chicago area on Monday. But former Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar, a McCain backer last time, has rebuffed entreaties from the Romney camp and is sitting out this year's presidential primary. In an interview, he described the GOP election as a "lesser of the evils" choice and expressed concern over Romney's prospects in the fall.

"With how far he's moving to the right," Edgar said, "it's going to be a little bit harder now for him to win than it was a year ago, when he was viewed as more of a moderate."

Jim Edgar sounds like a real winner. He backed McCain, and now he's opposed to Romney. Why? Romney is TOO conservative for him. He says we need a moderate like McCain to win. Uhhh, McCain lost.

My sister saw Santorum with Candy Crowley (yes, she watches CNN) in an interview today. Said Santorum did great. When Candy mentioned Mitt’s vast business experience, Rick countered with the facts. Said he’s been winning states on a shoestring budget which shows how he handles money and organization

On the other hand Romney’s been outspending him 10 to 1 and losing those states. So how are his financial and organizational skills. Excellent point and I wish Rick would get it out there more.

Rick is careful with his money whereas Romney is a typical pol who thinks it’s Monopoly cash.

That’s one of Saint Rick’s strong points, but I fear our little Republican primary voters know nothing more than rubberstamping the one Brit Hume favors.

Jim Edgar should just switch parties, and he will then be on the winning side of nearly every IL election.

I was speaking with a guy in Vernon Hills who’s pretty conservative. He said that he used to like Santorum, until he heard a robocall that said Santorum voted for Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court.

I explained to him that Santorum wasn’t even in the Senate when Sotomayor was nominated by Obama, and that Santorum’s vote for Sotomayor was in the 1990’s to be a district judge, not Supreme Court justice in 2009. He didn’t like being deceived by Romney, but said it didn’t matter anyway, because the race for the nomination is over.

This is why Democrats keep winning in Illinois.

I am very happy to have left Illinois back in 1998. It has gone from a centrist state to an extreme left wing state. It used to be Land of Lincoln, now it is the land of Obama, the radical socialist. Chicago is among the top 3 most corrupt cities. Chicago once sent me a parking ticket while I had never even visited city limits in couple of years.

Santorum is going to be outspent by Romney between 10 to 1 and 20 to 1. Santorum will get hit by negative attack ads over and over. Santorum will get attacked and lied about by the MSM. Santorum needs to overcome these disadvantages. He will face them the entire campaign.

That’s why Illinois should be worth about 9 delegates instead of 69. As long as the state awards electoral votes according to who wins Cook County big, the defacto result of winner take all, then the GOP should cut their delegate count down to their relevance in presidential elections.

A Hydra Is In The Mourning After Pill
OBMACARE is a 1.76 Trillion $ Hydra a 9 headed snake
which Can only be Destroyed By A Firebrand
by L.J .Keslin httpL// www.theusmat.com

Of the three GOP candidates remaining opposing Mitt Romney . Only one man had the courage to take on a what they call a third rail issue...Eugenics... and has had his character asassinated for it... He’s been pummeled from both sides called , a women hater ,, a religious nut, ..a one trick pony, Santorum could spend 20 minutes discussing oil and the economy then 10 seconds comenting about pornography but guess what MSM and Santorum detractors will talk about... certainly not ,what’s really in the 1.76 trillion dolllar wonder called Obamacare ,,...!; Population control.... and all that goes with it. Including cost, 1.76 trillion.

To pay off a trillion dollars at $1.00 a second would take 31,564 years. At a billion dollars a second only 995.70 years.(220 days). Not including interest.
Two groups late in the last century led in Eugenic development. The Nazis and the Communists. Few know or remember how the Nazis began. First citing “health risk” “nicht rauchen” baning cigarette smoking, Then terminating Down Syndrome children, and then on to mentally defective children and adults,. then on to besides murdering opponents, races. All done to make the German Reich healthy and last a thousand years.

So you go to the MSM (Main Stream Media) the so called “gate keepers” for information about these things and you find closed gates .. The sorcerers in the media magically reduce a 2000 page Hydra , a Greek legendary nine headed venomous serpent that must be slain by a firebrand ,and morph it into the mourning after pill and a “womans health care issue.”
The “gatekeepers” never tell you that Obamacare bill creators and the Amish are exempt from being in Obamacare. The drafters are on record actually calling it population control and demanding Catholic bishops support it.* Their statements are out there .But not mentioned by the so called gate-keepers but by the AM the alternate media, meaning radio talk shows like Limbaugh’s and websites like Britebart’s Government . Places Obama wants to shut down and will once re-elected *Joel Pollak Britebart Government .

Eugenics explained in common words is this. And it ain’t just b/c pills, condoms, and womens rights. It’s government policy. :You surrender your individuality to the group to advance the greater good of the group. If your unhealthy or too old and you can’t work for the greater good of the group any more, you are disposed of in the way the group decides. If there are too many people , the group decides no more babiys, kill them. Now lets take the word”group” and change it for the word “ state”. Women surrender their rights when they buy into this monstrosity . That is what’s in Obamacare which is deceptively titled “The Affordable Health Care Act”

.Yet Obamacom tzars who hail from that foreign land, the deep swamp of Acadamica are all preaching the utopian wonders of Eugenics. Why it’s the final solution (remember him ?) population control. Which is part of the Obamacare package.

Let’s hope Santorum decides not to shy away from this issue miss characterized as only a social issued. It is both a social and financial issue $ 1.75 trillion is in no way a minor expenditure. Population control affects US from the cradle to the grave. .but Santorum can not speakout and act against this despicable movement ? Particularly when that is being shoved on religious groups by the Demo-Coms . Especially when they are ignoring constitutional rights...

Recently Private job creation projects rejection by the demo-coms should send a signal to the Republican bleeding heart establishment . “Bi-partisanship” doesn’t exist with hyphenated demo-crats who are really at minimum socialists and the annointed GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Mr Romney should start realizing Obama is a “socialist”.. Everyone including the monthly liberal magazine Newsweek knows he is but Mr Romney just can’t seem to get around to saying it . Preventing an iron mine in Wisconsin for a desperate area in need of jobs or preventing the Keystone pipeline transfering oil from Canada to American refineries decisions which would have provided employment to thousands and reduced gas prices. was not on the hyphenated demo-com agenda.

I got that same call and knew instantly it was a lie.

I've had probably 25 Romney calls in the last week versus maybe 4 Santorum calls.

Romney is spending money like a liberal.

Chicago once sent me a parking ticket while I had never even visited city limits in couple of years.

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger, they sent me one back in the 70s and I had never been there in my life at that point.

They just pick out random numbers from a data base and mail out tickets. Some people actually pay them and Chicago rakes in the bucks.

Romney is scum. The non-stop ads in Nevada before our caucus trashing Newt with known lies such as the ethics violations in congress did nothing but make me angrier and angrier at that pissant. I think I loathe that man even more than Obummer.

I have disliked most GOP candidates since 1988. Bishop Willard however is the first national Republican figure that I can say I utterly and absolutely detest. He is worse than a Democrat. His policies are indistinguishable from the Democrat left, and he is WITHIN OUR CAMP.

Democrats not only control Chicago/Cook County but they control the entire state through their sheer numbers.

The Republican winner in the Illinois primary will also be decided by democrats. In Illinois, one goes to the polling place and is asked’”Republican or Democrat ballot?”. Obama is unopposed in the rat part of the primary, so rats will request Republican ballots, in huge numbers, hence, whoever they want will be the Republican primary winner in Illinois.

Santorum or Gingrich are both acceptable to me, since Santorum appears to have the best shot at beating scum Romney, I’ll be voting for Santorum tomorrow.

It’s been a new experience, having the Illinois primary mean anything. I’ve been flooded with robocalls. The most from a guy running for the Cook County Board of Review. He also has signs all over and is doing alot of advertising on the radio. Don’t know why he would spend so much money for that position, so I’m voting for the other guy. By Chicago political standards, I haven’t found any of the commercials by Romney or Santorum to be despicable. Talking heads tonight reported Romney with a slight lead in the polls.

Statewide polling that once showed a tight race is now tilting Romney’s way.

Once again, Romney’s money buys enough attack ads to overtake Rick when he is leading in a State. This is the fourth (4th) time Rick had a comfortable lead in a State and Romney overtakes him and wins.
