A lot of my very conservative Republican friends would go for Mitt instead of Rick because they think that Mitt stands a better chance of beating Obama.

You are fooling yourself if you believe that all Gingrich supporters are like the ones that you find on FR. Same for Santorum supporters. As for Mitt.....
Hate to tell you guys this but the views of the Republican electorate are not fully represented by the people that you interact with here on Free Republic. Some of them are pragmatists, not purists.
