Signs of financial strain showing up for Romney (Shocker: Staff Cutbacks at Team Romney!)
Associated Press ^ | 3/15/12 | Steve Peoples

The long and increasingly messy Republican presidential contest is starting to hit Mitt Romney where it hurts most: his wallet.

New signs of financial stress are emerging in Romney's campaign, which has built a wide lead in delegates thanks in part to the might of his bank account and multistate operation. As rival Rick Santorum's surprising strength keeps extending the nomination battle, Romney has scaled back expenses, trimmed field staff in some cases and begun to count more on free media coverage to reach voters.

-snip-

But it's less encouraging for the campaign that the money is badly needed to re-fill coffers that had sunk close to their lowest levels since Romney launched his presidential effort last year.

It's unclear if he will tap his own personal wealth.

Time for a good laugh at Matt Rhoades, Matt Drudge, Ann Coulter, Karl Rove and the rest of the GOP-e.

Sounds like his backers are getting weary.

As long as a 200% interest rate doesn’t bother him, he could probably hit up his Chicago buddy, Barry Soetoro, for a street loan.

Mitt’s large donors are all tapped out legally, and there are NO small donors to speak of. But, he’s got millions of his own money to pour into his campaign as well as the LDS nationwide network.

As soon as he puts his own money in he is done. It is a curse.

He spent the majority of it on taking out Newt. Apparently the till is running low on cash. Hahahaha.

The old GOP organization isn’t what it used to be. Mittens has blown through a fortune destroying conservatives, and the old guard is tapped out.

Santorum is at 1.8 million since Tuesday. This might get interesting.

For a guy who is supposed to be a brilliant business man, he sure is stupid about how he has spent his campaign funding.
What was he thinking to out spend the others 10-1, 20-1 in some states.
I just do not think he as brilliant in business as he has been portrayed, it does a man well to be propelled by first his dad then his homies.

Mittens could not beat lame Juan McShamnesty 4 years ago. The man don’t know his limitations.

Romney campaign is being run by the Ken Mehlman mafia from the Bush RNC.

It seems that the friends of Mehlman including Matt Drudge/Rhoades, Ann Coulter and the rest are intentionally sabotaging Romney’s campaign with their outrageously wasteful campaign expenses.

You’ll know it’s really bad when Willard has to lay off three-quarters of his voters.

He chose to spend multiple millions of dollars trying to destroy whichever opponent was gaining on him. He acted like his campaign had endless money. But it doesn’t.

His behavior does worry me with how he would manage the federal budget.

He could have conserved his money and campaigned like Santorum and Newt. A little more positive and not quite so nasty. Does he really think that 10 nasty ads an hour is that much more effective than one every two hours?

But all he knows how to do is tear down his opponent. Wouldn’t it work better to just try to get people to like you better than your opponent? But if you can turn your opponent into the devil, I guess you will look good no matter how pathetic and weak you are.

Ever since the 2008 primary, I've contended that NONE of those jerks were qualified to run in 2012. If they couldn't beat McCain -- the weakest GOP candidate since Alf Landon in 1936 -- they had no business trying to run for President ever again.
