Even here I see posters who still focus on Gingrichs adulteries. The fact of the matter is that southern Conservative women voters (outside of FR) have looked at Newt's three marriages and decided that he's no better than Bill Clinton. Other voters have looked at his record from 1998 to mid-2011 and decided that he's no better than Mitt Romney.

Newt certainly has his problems, but I also remember when he did great things for this country. I admire him for admitting his mistakes. Romney, for example, absolutely refuses to back away from Romneycare. Oh, he's a federalist, so he would NEVER support the individual mandate on a nationwide basis (yeah, right). When it comes down to it, none of the candidates are what I'd like, but Newt came across as our best chance of changing things up. I'll vote for Rick Santorum, but I consider his support for Snarlin’ Arlen and numerous compassionate conservative votes to be problematic. He's no great gift to conservatism. I think evangelicals like Rick's faith, so they gloss over his other faults, which are serious but not nearly as bad as Romney's.
