Mitt Romney effectively rules out Rick Santorum as running mate
Yahoo! News ^ | March 13, 2012 | Chris Moody

If Mitt Romney wins the Republican presidential nomination, he'll have many options for a running mate. His current rival Rick Santorum probably won't be one of them.

Romney said as much Tuesday when Neil Cavuto asked him on Fox Business if he would choose a candidate to his right in order to win the election.

"Well that would preclude, of course, Rick Santorum," Romney said. "Because I mean look at his record. I find it interesting that he continues to describe himself as the real conservative.

I’m beginning to suspect some of these folks would be more upset with Santorum as president than with Romney

On balance, same, same.

Romney/Christie?

It's not worth giving Romney the nomination for, but I'd pay money to see Christie dissect Biden. It would be epic.

I’ll take either one. Both of them bother me for different reasons, but at this point it’s Anybody But Obama.

I wish we had other choices, but our young up-and-comers don’t want to touch this race with a ten foot pole. Can’t say I blame them.

If he is upset with Fox today, give them a week to work him over.

He should be in the dumps... his fantasy is just about over and he will soon be back to living reality.

If my words sound gentle, it’s because I am listening to this while I type.

Romney didn’t answer the question—and thus rule anyone out—he simply challenged the premise to the question.

I think it would be great for Romney to go trolling through some homeless shelter in NYC to find a running mate. Romney/Stumblebum in 2012.

This would balance the ticket in terms of socioeconomic background, improve the common touch of the GOP ticket, give Mittwit a shot at the explicitly socialist vote, teach those right wing nuts a lesson for not believing each or even any of Mittwit's encyclopedia of ideological and autobiographical lies, make the GOP ticket one that includes that liberal ideal of Massachusetts/New York City balance.

Oh Muffy! Oh Skipper! How about that for dissing those disgusting baby worshiping, sexually uncreative, gun clinging, low class, non-poloplaying types whose tastes in music do NOT include the Metropolitan Opera! The GOP will be OUR party again! None of those Reaganite troglodites any more!!!!

Alternatively, Mitt would probably be comfortable with a "fiscal conservative" like Dede Scozzafava or Olympia Snowe or maybe even Gloria Steinem to after the wind tunnel Demonrat vote. Each of them favor baby-killing, gay everything, gun-grabbing, bailouts of the big shots at the expense of the peons, and all the other things that Mitt and the GOP-E hold soooooo dear.

If he does choose Stumblebum, the least he can do by way of GOP-E gratitude is buy for Stumblebum's lifetime use in good behavior a modest hacienda in the Hamptons and provide an unbreakable trust fund to maintain it and pay the operating expenses and utilities and what not. I think they call it noblesse oblige or some other elitist Frenchy term.

Of course, the bright side of a Romney nomination is that he will promptly buy a mansion at Hyannisport and learn to compete at that July 4 regatta at Mahthuh's Vineyahd, rent a place on Chappaquiddick Island for a barbeque with the, ummm, campaign girls and polish off a pint or two of Chivas before driving the GOP over the one true bridge (or its replacement) without a life jacket for the GOP on the way to the ferry to Edgartown. Of course, that neighborhood might not be what it used to be and he might run into the Obozo clan at Mahthuh's Vineyahd if he does not time his vacation just right.

In the unlikely event this degenerate fraud and coward from PLANET KOLOB buys the nomination, it will be an interesting election season, what with communists and the right uniting to make sure this cultist POS gets nowhere near the WH.

The GOP will die a well deserved death if MYTH SLICK WILLARD ROMNEY is their standard bearer.

RNC country clubber bluebloods and their creepy pulled back wives beware.

Romney could choose the fraud Santorum because he's true blue establishment, has a 'common touch' with blue collar and evangelicals.

That could be among the worst pairings imaginable. Santorum would leap on it and probably drag the ticket down.

Sorry for the delayed response.

I refuse to support a Liberal Republican.

I truly think that lowly of Romney. Any disagreement we might have is very likely a moot point since I cannot see anyway Romney can win the Electoral College.

How do you drag down a ticket that has no chance of winning or did you mean the senate and house?
If Romney is the nominee, I am not voting for him - period.
I will vote all other offices on the ballot, just not president.

Romney appointed only left wing court members, there is no reason to beleive as president he would be any different.
Politically Romney is no different that BHO.
I as many others will not vote for him - period.
