Romney has not changed one bit from his days as the liberal governor. I was really surprised in 2008 and even more disappointed now that voters can't see right through the fraud, Mitt Romney. Anyone who believes anything Mitt Romney says is being foolish. Actions speak a lot louder than hollow campaign speeches and Mitt's governance showed that he is and always has been a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Settle down there skippy. I was simply talking about the choice in 08 after Thompson left, and pointing out that Mitt has gotten worse. Your visceral hatred of Mitt apparently prevents you from processing the very narrow point I was making.
And FTR, both Bushes governed to the left of Clinton in many ways, thanks to the particular Speaker of the House Bill Clinton had to deal with. AHEM.

Two words: James Dobson
What I cited, was taken from exit polls in a state that Newt won (Georgia) they said that with out Newt they would go to Romney instead. They most certainly cannot stand Santorum. They see through his phony exterior.

Yep and in spite of all that he’s trotted out, Ricky’s speeches bore me to tears. Never ever bored with Newt, who is concise, never struggles for answers to questions and delivers them succinctly with a big nod to patriotism and capitalism.
Newt really has very little “baggage” measured against others in the race and he has admitted being on film with Pelosi was “the stupidist thing I’ve done.” I believe him.
And in addition to taking the entire south, which is a very real possibility, I have no doubt that in the general election in November, Newt can win Indiana (a state very hungry for a smart, conservative to vote for), as well as Kentucky, Tennessee, Kansas, Oklahoma, etc.
And I wish folks would realize that the delegate county is smoke and mirrors, that many, many of the delegates touted by Romney and Ricky are UNCOMMITTED” until the August convention in Tampa.

Absolutely. I’ll never forget watching Dr. Dobson give Santorum his endorsement in Colorado. Poof! Romney’s huge lead evaporated overnight. The Colorado win was what gave the stamp of authenticity to Santorum’s bounce. A lot of people underestimate just how key the endorsement of Dobson (and other evangelicals and homeschoolers) is to getting out the vote, especially in caucus states like Kansas.
IMO...A vote is one’s own, a vote spoken of before cast is an endorsement.
Why discuss it unless the idea is to sway others?

I agree, Romney has not changed. I actually supported him over Huckabee and McCain in 2008, but not until McCain had clinched the nomination.
Looking back, I sometimes think that was a big mistake. Romney might have won and he might have been worse than Obama. I once heard Romney promise to try to bring a form of Romneycare to the whole country. He actually planned to use it as a campaign issue, when he first signed it into law in Mass. I believe that he would have if the campaign had gone differently.
I don’t trust Romney for that reason.

There is no way Dobson caused Santorum’s rise to replace Newt as the anti Romney.
Romney’s attacks slaughtered Newt in Iowa and FL. ONly the good people of SC got it, and defied their own governor to vote Newt.
The media, including conservative talk hosts, either opposed Newt or endorsed another or shut Newt out as if he didn’t exist. That intensified the Romney attack results.
What happened is the attacks created an opening, which Santorum walked through.
If people against Romney had stuck with Newt, instead of diverting to Santorum, we would not be here where we are, but in a far better place.

I disagree. Voters started gravitating towards Rick after Florida. Many of Rick’s supporters are ABR people. People already new where Rick stood on issues. James Dobson’s official endorsement wasn’t responsible for Rick’s rise.
