Due to a continuing sales decline the Chicago Sun-Times is auctioning off printing presses and other equipment used to publish its rag of a paper. Link is above.

I saw the original auction ad in the classifieds section of the Wall Street Journal and went to the link in the ad, which is posted here. Have a glass of Schadenfreude on me.

While you're there you might want to look at some of their other auctions and notice how many green energy companies are selling off their assets.

Obviously nobody in the newspaper has done agricultural work and is aware of the term, “seed corn”.

——is auctioning off printing presses -——

A year or so ago I visited a company dealing in used printing presses. The warehouses were so full you couldn’t move around. They were buying presses at auction for nothing. They were exporting a few, very few, and domestic sales were near zero.

Good luck at the auction ChiTrib

I hope everyone realizes Newspaper/Magazines are just going to move their operations to the internet. It's not that print won't be around anymore it's just going to be delivered in a limited form.

Businesses are stating to realize this and will move their advertizing/product accordingly. This is not happening because these rags are slanted as much as the industry delivery system is changing. It has to for these papers to survive because they got so bloated and top heavy with PRINT over the years. Their arrogance has brought them to their knees.

Here's what is great about it. These journalist and these slanted, biased prix will have to compete with the average Joe blog. And the avg. Joe blog will keep these deceivers in check!

The thing which is honestly quite fascinating about all this is the internet does not care about "Good" writing or even "good" journalism. It only wants CORRECT information, the one thing good journalism is supposed to provide. And this PO's journalist more than anything I can think of because anybody can write and get read.

So, I can write about the same subject as your liberal, biased, lying journalist and potentially get more readers than they do, and my writing sux! Every time these prix lie or use their biased slant somebody is going to be there to call them on it!
