Gov. McDonnell just signed into law HB 462, mandating that women seeking abortion care in Virginia undergo and pay for an ultrasound and make two-trips to the health center. This law is nothing but an attempt to shame and place barriers for women seeking legal abortion care in Virginia.
Tell Gov. McDonnell that this overreach of government is unacceptable and disrespectful. Tell him his vote didn't represent you and include why this issue is important to you. Call and leave a message at 804-786-2211 and email him by clicking here.
The outpouring of support in fighting these anti-women attacks has been inspiring. (check out the photo protest page from our Virginia Pro-Choice Day of Action!). Unfortunately, Gov. McDonnell refused to hear the message that thousands of women's health advocates sent through protests, petitions, voicemails and emails. In fact, some women's health advocates protesting this bill were met with excessive police presence and response over the weekend. Hold Gov. McDonnell responsible and send him a final message that his vote is unacceptable.
Thank you for taking action!
Join me in THANKING GOVERNOR MCDONNELL for standing up to the abortion industry and doing the right thing for Virginia Women...

I’d say that this law support Obama’s stated desire to make abortion rare.
