TUNIS, Tunisia (AP) — Islamist and leftist students fought running battles at a Tunisian university Wednesday in the latest incident involving rising religious sentiment in the North African country.
Competing demonstrations in the morning by hundreds of conservative students, known as Salafis, and leftist members of the national students' union erupted into violence when the former tore down the national flag flying at the university entrance.

This is the real battle that is occurring in countries “liberated” from their repressive dictators. The Islamist movement historically best characterized by the Muslim Brotherhood has always had the most popular support. If fair votes are taken the secular forces will be defeated as is happening in Egypt. Bad news for women and the local Christians. The “Arab Spring” will be followed by economic and political regression. Destitute refugees will soon be fleeing to Europe in numbers never before seen.
