The National Rifle Association will endorse Sen. Dick Lugar's (R-Ind.) Tea Party-backed primary opponent Wednesday morning, sources with knowledge of the endorsement told The Hill.
Their endorsement of Indiana state Treasurer Richard Mourdock (R) over Lugar could be a body blow to the longtime senator. The NRA is a powerful group popular in Indiana, a state where many Democrats also support the group's policy goals. By making Lugar a target, they could contribute to his downfall.

YES!
I lost faith in the NRA when they supported Hairy Reid. It will take a while to see who they are for.
Well it is about time for this to happen. Not sure how many people here in Indiana will notice as today is the day the Colts are going to announce that they have cut Peyton Manning and it is dominating the local news at the moment.

EXCELLENT.
What, Lugar didn’t pay them off to get their endorsement like Reid did??
Finally the NRA makes the right political decision, not like they did with John Dingle in Michigan. Go Mourdock.
I thought Lugar announced a while back that he wasn’t running for re-election...
Ironic... Unless of course, the challenger is Tony Beretta....
The only reason they went for Dingle in Michigan is that he is/was very pro gun...a jerk and and an a$$hole, but one of the few democrats pro 2nd amendment. Thats the only criteria they usually use in who they back. Not 100% of the time, but they are a one subject advocate group only...
I dropped. My membership over that, Reid supported 4 justices that can’t the words right to bear arms
I'm not sure why the NRA supported Reid, but I can understand supporting Dingle.
I'm reminded of the following:
Never forget, even for an instant, that the one and only reason anybody has for taking your gun away is to make you weaker than he is, so he can do something to you that you wouldn't let him do if you were equipped to prevent it. This goes for burglars, muggers, and rapists, and even more so for policemen, bureaucrats, and politicians. --Aaron Zelman and L. Neil Smith _Hope_ [2001]
It still bothers me when someone like Dingle professes to be pro 2A but quits the NRA and sends his membership back which he did during Klintons watch.
