CNN story: Gingrich says gas prices a problem for Obama

......"Gingrich said the GOP would not be harmed by the controversy surrounding radio commentator Rush Limbaugh, who this week used incendiary language to describe a law student after she testified in a Congressional hearing over contraception coverage. Limbaugh apologized for the remarks Saturday.

"The Republican Party has four people running for president, none of whom is Rush Limbaugh," Gingrich said. "One of them will end up as the nominee, and that person will be the Republican spokesman. I don't think any of them were involved in this controversy at all.".....

Thinking about it last night, Rush probably was told by his lawyers that using the term “Prostitute” could cause him some issues. Slut could be argued is just his opinion, however, “Prostitute” is a criminal activity and not just a matter of opinion.

Rush should have stuck with Slut and added on Political Whore, Nancy Pelosi’s Floozy, Congressional Tramp, Dingbat, etc..

(anyway, Sluts can’t be Prostitutes until they pass the Bar Exam).

Much as I like Newt, I would strongly suggest he avoid offering any commentary or opinions on promiscuous individuals (of any gender)regardless of circumstances.
Rush can take care of himself.
The GOP has difficulty finding it’s posterior with both hands.

God, I love Newt. Such a gift to break things down so that even the most obtuse liberal can’t dispute it.

Rush should if he hasnt already, state the facts about this so called college student. Is she not a lawyer, 30 years old and an activist associated with know activists for this purpose, list the many times Palin and Bachmann and other conservative women were called sluts by other commentators and demand thier apologies also.

March 3rd - Bowling Green, OH ..."Asked by reporters here about Mr. Limbaugh’s comments, the former House speaker responded, “I don’t even know. I wasn’t involved in the conversation.” He continued, “I will say that the news media seems far more eager to talk about Rush Limbaugh’s language than they are to talk about the Barack Obama’s apology to the people who are killing Americans.” That was a reference to President Obama’s apology to Afghan President Hamid Karzai for U.S. troops who burned Qurans, sparking deadly protests in Afghanistan."

Where are the Newt fans/Rick haters? Rick called the comments “absurd” and was attacked on here because he didn’t support Rush’s comments. People even made comments he wasn’t tough enough to be President. Now Newt says that Rush is right to apologize, therefore also publically disagreeing with the comments, and we’ll likely not hear a peep.

Yes, Newt screwed the pooch on this one. There was a huge opening here if he had just avoided it and waited til Rush’ show on Monday to see what is really up.

That's a good point. I though Rush was right about condemning her expectation that we should have to pay for her birth control, but he should have left it at that.

The last thing our side needs now is to give the left ammunition to use against us, and that's what Rush did.

Though I hate to see a conserative back up on their comments and appologize, It was probably a wise thing to do. I had concerned that this could be Rush’s “nappy headed hos” moment.

Gingrich is unquestionably my candidate at this point and I hope Super Tuesday marks his latest comeback.

As far as they are concerned, if Rick says it ? it's bad, if Newt says it, it's all good.

Stepped in what ? for someone showing the total hypocrisy of the Newt supporters bashing Rick Santorum’s comment about Rush saying he was absurd to say that and now ? Newt comes out and says this ? ... it’s called hypocrisy... in case you don’t understand English.

Yes, Newt screwed the pooch on this one. There was a huge opening here if he had just avoided it and waited til Rush’ show on Monday to see what is really up.

Rush apologized ALL by himself.

Newt on Sunday when asked by CNN: ......"Gingrich said the GOP would not be harmed by the controversy surrounding radio commentator Rush Limbaugh, who this week used incendiary language to describe a law student after she testified in a Congressional hearing over contraception coverage.

AND: “I don’t even know. I wasn’t involved in the conversation.” He continued, “I will say that the news media seems far more eager to talk about Rush Limbaugh’s language than they are to talk about the Barack Obama’s apology to the people who are killing Americans.”

This is the difference, one of many, between the Newt supporters and the Rick supporters.

You will see a good number of Newt nation slam him for this. I already have. Check the posts. It was obvious that I was posting simultaneously with Tinkerbell or whoever...

We don’t worship our man. Something you can’t relate to.

Newt understands that this will affect the GOP. He knows we must get past this FAST, and Rush’s apology will help to do this. An endorsement of Rush apologizing is quite a bit different than Santorum saying he was absurd. Can people not just look at a bigger picture here?

That's ALL he should have said. Period. That would have been a brilliant statement if THAT WAS ALL HE SAID. That would have given him clear separation from what RS said yesterday, which Newt needs at this point.

RS's comment was worse, but Newt's comment has closed the gap on this, and Newt needed a huge gap on this. He had it. He blew it.
