That may indeed happen eventually, but not before the election this November. Hell, if he gets too much grief over this made up and created controversy....maybe Rush should start his OWN station like Beck did. He’s got the $$$ to do so.
That's certainly a possibility since, as you point out, he as the financial resources to do it.
That notwithstanding, a move away from the mass media isn't always a winning strategy. Since exiting Fox, Glenn Beck has fallen off the map for many. It was likewise even with Howard Stern when he moved off broadcast radio and onto a subscription-based service. Even Keith Olbermann has fallen into more of an abyss since he was fired from MSNBC. There are a lot of niche media outlets but the big audiences are still found on the traditional side. That will change eventually but it hasn't happened just yet.
