'I have to do my dishes by hand': Outrageous quotes of Wall Street bankers..
UK Daily Mail ^ | March 1, 2012 | Staff

Forget the one per cent. These guys are the WHINE per cent. Several Wall Street bankers and execs have come forward to voice their discontent about just how daunting it is to survive on their six-figure salaries in interviews with Bloomberg.com. Andrew Schiff, the communications and marketing director at Euro Pacific Capital, hates traffic just like most New Yorkers, but unlike most in the Big Apple, he’s feeling the crunch from a $350,000 salary. Mr Schiff told Bloomberg: 'The New York that I wanted to have is still just beyond my reach'.

THis shows just how completely out of whack New York is.

$350,000 salary and he has a 1200 SQ FT APARTMENT with 3 kids. Unbelievable.

I make less than $100,000 and have a 2200 sq ft home with 4 bedrooms and a payment of less than $1000 a month.

If you choose to live in NYC then live with the hell that comes with it. I have no pity what so ever for these yahoos.

As for me, I will take little ole Central Alabama and laugh at these morons and their “PROBLEMS”.

Very basic point: It’s perfectly normal to be annoyed by the wealthy, or to see they are unhappy in spite of their wealth, etc.

The problem we are facing is, every time a wealthy guy leaves a small tip, it is NOT grounds for massive governmental action.

Alabama is a great place to live economically. If you live outside of the major cities, life can be very good. Taxes are low, and cost of living too.

I do miss living there, but did not have a choice but to go with the company move.

This is just TRAGIC!! He has to pull his kids out of private school, wash dishes by hand AND CUT COUPONS!! Dear me... how does he get up in the morning? How can he mentally survive? I’d like to post more but I have laundry to fold, some bathrooms to scrub and a vacuum to run. Pray for me....

Unfortunately we all have to go where the job takes us sometimes.

I am lucky in that while my job frequently requires me to be in places like DC, Baltimore, Denver, Chicago, etc (I am an IT Security Alalyst). It is always just for a week or two at a time onsite for testing then back home to Alabama to do the reports. :-)

NO offense, but Andrew Schiff is the less apt of the Schiff brothers and only has the job due to average qualifications and the fact his brother Peter owns the company. He is easily replaceable at 2/3rds his self declared salary, and as he is the brother of the owner he is probably dipping in to company funds for tax deductible business expenses at a nepotistic level, such as car allowance, travel allowance, etc.

ON top of that, Andrew’s choice of living in Brooklyn is HIS lifestyle choice (and/or his wife’s), his brother lives in the CT suburbs and commutes to the same office daily. Andrew could be living in CT just as easily in a less expensive zip code, and a 2400 sq ft house.

These complaints are equally ridiculous as the thousands which are posted at wearethe99percent.org

Which proves my point that there is absolutely no one-to-one correlation between your level of wealth and being an a-hole.
A-holes come in all sizes, shapes, genders, races and income levels. And you can’t identify one strictly by his W2.

$350k salary, of which he gives up 56% to income taxes. So he’s living on $175k in the city. Not a lot of money there.

He’s made his choices and I’m glad he’s there. Too many new york liberals have already moved to Florida and are trying to screw this place up like they did back home.

The welathy guy that left the small tip story was a HOAX. The story was a plant to fuel class warfare just as this banker story is.

It's a hoax! Nasty receipt with 1% tip was Photoshopped (the tip was actually 21 %) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2107738/Receipt-1-percent-tip-fake-restaurant-says.html
