Question for the thread:

Was “Buck” Compton actually considered an original member of the 101st ABD. IIRC, he joined the Easy Company in England just prior to D-Day. I didn’t know if he trained with the 506th PIR at Camp Taccoa since he played in the ‘43 Rose Bowl. I believe the 506th began forming in ‘42.
