Why? President (then former California Governor) Ronald Reagan ACTIVELY CAMPAIGNED for Cross Over Democrat votes in Indiana, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas (big time, snagging former George Wallace-Democrat's state party chairman Rolly Milirions and having him do letter campaigns and radio spots for democrats), all throughout 1976. 1980 also saw additional Ronald Reagan campaign efforts to get "cross over" Democrats in "open primary states" to beat away George H.W. Bush. Walters Mears, reporter for AP at the time, reported on 14 May 1976 in an AP dispatch that the 1976 Ronald Reagan Campaign made a rather committed effort to attract cross over Democrat votes in MICHIGAN on Jerry Ford's home ground to the abject consternation of RINO Ford's campaign camp and the moderate Republican Party Establishment. Sound familiar???? Hmmmmmm???????

Santorum cannot be criticized for a) methods and tactics Governor Reagan used in 1976, and b) methods and tactics employed by the very Romney he is up against, done by Romney in New Hampshire.

And now that Santorum is the clear Conservative frontrunner in this race in terms of convention delegates, no talk of Santorum "stepping aside for Newt Gingrich" (sic), as we head into more friendly Santorum territory where he is really going to bust chops on Romney/RINOhoood bigtime. This thing is not over by a long shot.

Nice try, Romneybots or otherwise. Should read your Presidential Election history before stones are cast. Thanks for playing anyway. ;-)
