The U.S. has reached out to Qatar for help in negotiating with the Taliban, toppling Moammar Qaddafi, helping the Syrian opposition battle Bashar Assad and in all likelihood, various other important issues behind-the-scenes. A heavy price comes with enlisting Qatar’s help.

Yes. This is the nub of the article, and it is certainly something which needs to be discussed.

Qatar has come out of the GFC as leader of the Gulf States - its economy had a much better, conservative set up. They were able to buy the others up. Other nations, like Libya, they overthrew by force - aided by NATO. Qatar now owns at least one of Libya's banks - they just took it, like a slice of pie. Economic and military power working together. Since they took an interest in the Taliban, the level of violence in Afghanistan has become more deadly.

While showing the face of an ally, Qatar looks like a very dangerous rival indeed.

I am NOT defending Qatar, or ANY Muzi country.
I said that I used Qatar Airways as it was the only airline that would fly me from Vienna to Cebu city with only one stop.
Qatar is one of only five airlines that has a five star rating. No American carrier has over three.

As for Obumbo, I am sure he is sympathetic to the Muzies, but since he a true narcissist, I suspect he is an atheist.
To my knowledge he and his family have yet to attend a DC church.
