(No they were NOT Nazi death camps.. I am constantly astounded by the BIG LIE that so many embrace. Yes it is true that people suspected of loyalty to the Imperial Government of Japan were confined to camps.)
"Background
"During the spring and summer of 1942, the United States Government carried out, in remarkably short time and without serious incident, one of the largest controlled migrations in history. This was the movement of 110,000 people of Japanese descent from their homes in an area bordering the Pacific coast into 10 wartime communities constructed in remote areas between the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Mississippi River.
"The evacuation of these people was started in the early spring of 1942. At that time, with invasion of the west coast looming as an imminent possibility, the Western Defense Command of the United States Army decided that the military situation required the removal of all persons of Japanese ancestry from a broad coastal strip. In the weeks that followed, both American-born and alien Japanese residents were moved from a prescribed zone comprising the entire State of California, the western half of Oregon and Washington, and the southern third of Arizona.
"The Relocation Program
"The United States Government, having called upon these people to move from their homes, also assumed a responsibility for helping them to become reestablished. To carry out this responsibility, the President on March 18, 1942, created a civilian agency known as the War Relocation Authority. . . The relocation centers, however, are NOT and never were intended to be internment camps or places of confinement . . . ."
Sorry (Not!) to disappoint any Lefty pukes who might be reading this but we really didn't beat to death and ship the remaining 110,000 people off in boxcars to die in death camps . . . . IT JUST DID NOT HAPPEN AS SO MANY LOVE TO SQUAWK ABOUT.
Wot? Their lives were disrupted? Well I think something like 14 million lives were disrupted here in America and -- what? -- two million American lives were ENDED by the war!
And an American-loving Salute! to the Japanese-Americans who like millions of other Americans fought to save Her. Who can dishonor these men by saying that they were forced to fight?
RELOCATION OF JAPANESE-AMERICANS
(No, I do not believe the Japanese just loved to be uprooted and moved into a strange area where they had to build their communities all over. . . True I WAS NOT there having been born only a year before -- though we infants had all been issued olive drab diapers and were on call for domestic assignments . . . . )
This is war defending against Islamism (political Islam, jihad and sharia law). We can learn a lot from the last Americans who were permitted by their government to WIN the war!
American citizens rounded up and imprisoned for years on suspicion? No doubt their property was returned to them upon release.
BTW, US KIA in WW2 is reliably estimated at less than 500,000.
