Newt Gingrich on apologies following Quran burnings in Afghanistan: "Our troops get killed, nobody apologizes"
This evening on "Piers Morgan Tonight", GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich joins the program for an honest and engaging interview on topics ranging from foreign affairs to energy policy.
On the heels of the recently reported Quran burnings in Afghanistan, the former House Speaker shares his candid opinions on the apologies issued first by President Obama, and then by General John R. Allen.
"Look around the region. Churches get burned in Nigeria. Does anyone apologize? Churches get burned in Egypt. Does anyone get apologized?" asks Gingrich. "There is a one-sided traffic in outrage which we tolerate and frankly we help enable."

I just watched and it will be continued on Monday. Good interview. Piers was trying desperately to trip him up. And I admit I’ve never watched an episode of Piers Morgan in my life and ONLY one clip from an interview link posted here on FR a week or two ago.

I can’t find the video now - but there was one of U.S. Gen. John Allen apologizing to Kazai profusely - all but getting on his knees to beg forgiveness. It would make you sick to your stomach. It wouldn’t happen under Pres. Gingrich.
I wished that Newt had been able to get a bottle of water. He had a “frog in his throat” which detracted a little from the message. :-)
My late B-I-L had Esophageal Cancer and he had the same problem early on.

If you actually listen to the candidate instead of what’s said about them, Newt is on top. Same as Sarah.

Newt is the ONLY candidate who mentions - or probably even knows what - the ROE are - that obama put in, giving the taliban the upper hand and has doubled,then tripled, then more that tripled out troops killed in 2009, 2010,2011.
The media is silent, the public is blind, and our soldiers blood is DIRECTLY on obama’s hands.
I wish Newt could have worked this into one of the debates - He’s educate the public and the other candidates would be sitting there wondering what he was talking about

Piers Morgan is rather unaffectionately known as Piers Moron over here in the UK.
You can see why.
He is quite the smart ass. Not as swarmy as Bill Maher, but I'm sure Piers British Accent takes a bit of the edge off.
Actually Piers is usually pretty tough on most everybody...and comes across as snarly and such. But from what folks are saying he couldn't trip Newt up... and for that you can bet Piers "respects" Newt...and their's very few who could get that from Piers.
I know Piers hasn’t brought the ratings they thought he mightfor CNN...he can be a real jerk ...but I think all the liberal stations have jerks for the most part any more.
Newt should do more of these type interviews to get his train back on track.
He destroyed Piers Morgan, using the type of common-sense conservative logic that would have working Americans jumping to their feet and cheering wildly.
