Sure, I think most all of us agree that he is right. Still, it’s a really stupid thing to say in the middle of an election, since he should have foreseen how bad this would look once it got spinned.
Not that I’m opposed to a candidate who is willing to take on the media and speak on topics that liberals want to make taboo. I just think, if you are going to do that, you need to do it with more finesse than this.

Compare this to Newt’s swings today on Afghanistan and energy.
I like both Rick and Newt, but I’d much rather have Newt in the ring for 10 rounds with Obama.

Right. Because elections are about being bland and milquetoast and not making any bold statements for fear that the media will twist them.
That's a sure recipe for electoral success right there. Just ask John McCain and Bob Dole.
