Marine told me when my son joined that I was part of the family and would find out what that meant. I feel the loss.

Lt. Maureen Dooley with the Miramar Air Base in California says the Marines were based at Camp Pendleton north of San Diego.
She says the crash involved Cobra and Huey helicopters.
Authorities say it happened Wednesday evening.

I decided to call up the NJ Governor’s office to ask. I actually got right through which was pretty impressive. So I asked if they would be flying the flags at half mast for our fallen Marines in this accident. The first question back was “were any of them residents of NJ?”. Cold. Not an “Oh my, I saw that” or “What a terrible accident”. Nope.
OTOH, she did say that they would look to see if they were and then of course they would. She told me they fly the flag at half mast for every fallen NJ soldier (32 times to date). So we’ll see.
