Rick Santorum struck the right note with conservatives when he attacked Obama on his phony liberal theology.

Unfortunately I heard Santorum mumbling an explanation of what he really meant on the news this morning when he really had a chance to drive a knife into Obama's heart (figuratively folks). I thought Santorum was speaking about Obama's Christian theology and then was indignantly asked if he really questioned Obama's belief in Christianity. The perfect answer would have been, "I don't know. Why don't you go ask Obama what his views are about Black Liberation Theology and James Cone."

Why, when confronted by Scheiffer, on his "phony theology" statement, did Santorum not cite the President's claim to a "theological" mandate for increasing government's "taking" from those he considers "rich"?

Justifying the exercise of coercive "taking" power by government officials to decide how "much is required," which assumes some earthly authority to know the mind of God in determining how "much is given" definitely sounds like "phony theology" to many.

Further, another more recent Presidential statement assuming the mind of Christ as authorization for increased "taking" from some to give to others represents a dubious "theology" for some who believe that responding to Jesus' call for charity is an individual and voluntary act, not a delegation of authority to government powers.

Why did Santorum indicate he had been talking about "environmentalists"?
