The buzz in PA among GOP insiders is that Rick will gladly accept a ticket with Romney, if that is what it takes. His big money backer Friess (who supported Romney in 2008) has alluded to the same thing.

Rick’s goal is to be on the ticket. If he can get there without Romney’s delegates, surely he will pick a different VP. If he can’t, expect the Party Establishment to have the Romney/Santorum or Santorum/Romney deal all set. They do not want a brokered convention.

One other scenario that might throw a monkey wrench in that alliance would be if Newt got enough delegates that Rick and Mitt still didn’t have the magic number even combining their delegates.

It stinks to high heaven and if the Mitt/Rick deal happens, maybe we’ll at least see a new Conservative Party out of it. People should be sick of this corrupt mess.

So are the santorumaniacs going to stick with him when he runs with Romney? The dastardly duo are betting they will. It is so obvious, do people really think that these two, who are very close in the polls, would pass up a debate before super Tuesday, to shred each other? Voting for Santorum will get you Romney/Santorum.

You say yourself that Rick would prefer not to have Romney on the ticket. The rest is just conjecture. Buzz is not fact but lets just pretend that happens. There is not a person running who would would do different, including Newt. Newt would be first in line. Rick at least has core beliefs. Welcome to politics. You’ve heard the saying politics makes strange bedfellows right? The fact is that Rick is in it to win it. That is NOT corruption. Newt would pair with Romney in a hot second if he knew that he would be relevant and in power again.

I think Romney said recently that he would consider Santorum for VP.

The gop-e are confortable with Rick. I have not seen them go all out to defeat Rick like they did Newt. He probably is not a threat to their power.

I have been sick of this since Bob Dole and before. I cannot stand the establishment’s willingness not to take BOZ down NOW!

GOP insiders assumed all along Romney was going to be nominee, sailing through with little competition. What that tells me about GOP insiders is there's quite a delta between what they know and what they THINK they know. With Mitt's PACs unleashing hit pieces on Santorum on a regular basis now, I highly doubt Rick would team up with him.
