This was a confusing interview. At first she said that Mittens was an excellent candidate, and then says that she’s not convinced that he is a conservative. So.....?

That’s easy, she meant he was an excellent candidate, but out of politeness she omitted the end of the sentence...for the Democrat party.

This was a confusing interview. At first she said that Mittens was an excellent candidate He is. Call Central Casting and ask for "generic Republican candiate" and the casting call will be for a Mitt Romney type.
Same as Baraq Obama is an excellent candidiate.
