More questions raised about Santorum residency (2004 hit piece)
Penn Hills PA News ^ | November 17, 2004 | Vera Miller

Marcie Lucci is one of several Penn Hills residents upset her taxes are paying for U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum's children to attend a cyber charter school.

The Republican senator owns a home in Penn Hills, but lives in Leesburg, Va.

Penn Hills School District is paying $38,000 this year for five Santorum children to attend Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School based in Midland, Beaver County. The district has paid an additional $62,000 for his children to attend the school since 2001.

"It might not be illegal to bill Penn Hills for their education, but it is deceitful, unethical and immoral," said Lucci, a mother of two school district children. "It is outrageous he is doing this."

This Santorum School Scandal was not brought up by Rick when he publicly attacked Newt Gingrich for supposed ethical violations (which proved to be politically motivated). It is really ironic that Rick Santorum ran for public office attacking opponents because of questionable residency issues.

Given his previous political attacks on others, it should be pointed out that not only is Rick a lawyer, but it turns out that his wife also has a law degree (from a recent article in which they sued a chiropractor for causing her "permanent injuries"),they have little excuse for their actions which could be considered criminal in some jurisdictions.

I'm sure Carlie Schumer's real proud to see that in 2012, he still has FReepers carrying his dirty bathwater from 2006.

Maybe if you pull up an article from '98 denouncing Al D'Amato, Chuckie will give you a second gold star and a pat on the head!

Apart from a few favorable posts about Newt, virtually all of your recent posts have been attacks on Rick Santorum.

If you really think Newt is the best there is, fine, but this is not the best way to show it.

I own four properties in NC, pay property taxes on all of them, home schooled my kids - but didn’t get this kind of break.

I am a Newt supporter, but I like Santorum.

This is a bullshit scandal.

If he was paying property taxes on his home in PA while his family lived in VA so that he could serve the people of PA in the US Senate, then there was nothing unethical about it. Plus participating in the program which for Pennsylvanians kept him and his family connected to their own state’s education regime. Oh yeah: being Mormon is waaaaaaaaaaaaay wackier than homeschooling.

Why is Penn Hills on the hook for his children’s schooling. If you go to Catholic school, the government doesn’t pay for it.

"My property taxes pay for local schools."

Those who LIVE in a locale, but do not OWN property, still vote on Tax issues that don't affect them.

Not at all un-like the voters who LIVE OFF OTHERS (aka, Parasites) via EBT's, Welfare, Food Stamps, Medicaid, etc., who vote in their interest as they don't have to PAY FOR IT.

If you don't pay taxes, you should NOT be allowed to vote, period.

We knew the lib/establishment hit pieces on the Senator were coming once he got his moment of glory, but this is about all they have. They had it all ginned up and were not going to use it if he faded, now they have to roll it out. Pathetic. However, they are so screwed. Like I said, this is about all they have. The guy, for a politician, is realitively squeaky clean. They will not be able to derail his race to the nomination, I am convinced of it. Nice try. By the way, when libs start the attack dog machine, we as citizen journalists should find out EVERYTHING about that "muckracking journalist" him or her self. I mean, comb high school yearbooks, talk to old flames and former teachers, find their contributions information for campaigns, arrest records, divorce proceedings, any crimes committed, tax records, op eds they might have put in student papers,, you name it, and if dirt is found a) make it very public on the internet; and b) make it clear it is in retaliation for them being the attack dogs for American Liberalism against conservatives, and serve it as a general order that the next lib journalist who stoops to it, is going to get the same treatment. Lets play hard ball with these freaks.

Slinging that dirt really hard tonight, old noot must be shaking.

Just think how smart that lady is, all those kids, a degree in nursing and a law degree. You jealous of her IQ?? Oh, and that is federal education money and it is fungible.

You don’t have to love Santorum to recognize the pure idiocy of bringing him down.

Looks to me like the original poster was a McCain supporter in the past anyway.

I can’t take another round of destroy the conservative leader. We honestly need to rally around Rick, I think it’s our last chance to get some enthusiasm for a candidate and that’s the only way to defeat Romney. If we look for the negatives and turn our backs on him, the other side will win by default.

One disclaimer, if Newt makes a comeback, I’m all in for him too but we need to band together for a conservative candidate.
