Who owns the airspace over the US? Serious question and I think I know the answer. I think what I am getting at is whether or not individual states can impose airspace restrictions.

FAA owns all airspace, states do not control any airspace.

FAA/Feds own the airspace.

Oh, and before you wannabe AA gunners muse out loud about shootdowns, think for a moment about where it might come down and who might be killed when/if it does, and who might be liable...
