Newt's supporters have been constantly saying Santorum needs to drop out and endorse Newt so conservatives can "stop Romney", but if he had done so this week, today's headlines would read "Romney surge continues with big wins in Missouri, Minnesota. Political experts: After 4-state sweep, Romney nomination seen as inevitable"

But but but, don't you know that Santorum is only in the race to split the vote and steal from Gingrich (even though Santorum supporters supposedly support Romney as a second choice) and Romney is actually secretly funding Santorum's campaign?

This is a major upset - the contest was supposed to be for second place - now instead Santorum is 1st. This wasn’t even being discussed as a possiblity - just that if Santorum could hold on and win in MO, manage to win in MN where it was close (and instead he won by a landslide), and come in second in CO, it would be a good night. Wow.
