I can’t imagine how the prospect of becoming one of the 72 houris awarded to a male martyr for all eternity would be much of a motivation.

The whole story:

It is 100 virgins (or houris). 72 female, and 28 male.

And only the male martyrs get them. Women do not go to heaven.
