The news media were completely silent on the subject, but JFK was a womanizer extraordinaire. I have heard from people with family in the administration that he generally had at least two or three women a day. Obviously it must have kept him pretty busy.

I wonder why this woman just didn’t keep her mouth shut...does she really need the money?
Also it was interesting that he said - supposedly - that he’d rather his children were red than dead because just recently we heard that Jackie made the really strange comment that she wanted to die with JFK (by staying in the WH with her husband rather than going to a safe place in the event of a nuclear attack) and so did the children. Hard to imagine she actually said that!

Not so much...it was more a situation when JFK decided on the girl du jour and summoned her.
What I don’t understand is why a 69 year old grandmother would divulge this. Don’t tell me money...I can’t wrap my brain around that.
At some point in life, most people realize that their youthful indiscretions should be left in the past.Even though JFK took advantage of her youth, at some point she had to have thought that things weren’t right. I would hate to be her kids or grandkids.

LBJ and Hoover were able to lead the coup that killed JFK because most in powerful positions were aware that JFK was trash.
LBJ was going to jail for murder, his ticket out was Elm Street as he squashed that investigation per Barr McClellan, one of LBJ's lawyers.
Hoover of course had files on everybody. Hoover in many respects was the most powerful man on Earth and he was not going to give up his power if JFK was re-elected. Without Hoover, of course, the coup would have been easily exposed.
Seems like a pretty low class woman. Cashing in on the fees for services performed in the past. Think she looked Jackie and the staff in the eye when she worked with them?
Money could be the reason. Maybe she is angry at her husband. There is at least one 'good' reason. Maybe more.

Pretty much all the Kennedys, as far as I can see. Joe Kennedy, Sr., was a mobster, and over the years it seems to have run in the family. For several generations.
Drunken, womanizing, “I’m entitled” louts, just about all of them. JFK’s mother seems to have been a decent woman, and she managed to teach the brothers some manners, if not actually improve their behavior. So with the complicity of the media they got away with it.

True. Maybe I just should have left it that she taught them manners, how to behave as if they were just as good as those of the most select Bostonian birth, and not Chicago mobsters. And the press ate that up.
Now, of course, nobody is taught manners, so it’s less important whether you have any.
