Compare: In 1978 or so Bill Buckley debated Ronald Reagan on the Panama Canal Treaty. No one who knew Bill believed for one minute that his support for the treaty was sincere. Reagan was a great hero to conservatives especially later when he was in the White House but he was not as polished a debater as Bill. Bill did not do well in the debate. Reagan won with the line: "We built it. We paid for it and its ours!" The debate and Bill's lackluster performance left the impression that Carter was threatening Bill with a tax prosecution or something.
Annie's choice of POTUS candidates is utterly inconsistent with her other writings. I also don't believe that she is under the magic spell of Bill Maher as her svengali.
She went off the deep end a while ago by becoming the star at the GOPround “HomoFest” and then a bit later, their mascot. Stick a fork in her.
And I say this as someone who bought two of her books. Never again.
