LIBERTY COUNTY, TX (KTRK) -- When military men and women leave home to serve the country, they expect to return to their homes once their tour of duty is over. But a military couple in the Liberty County town of Splendora almost lost their home to squatters who've been arrested for more than just taking over the couple's house.
It was an unusual call for the Liberty County Sheriff's Office, but even more disturbing for homeowner Hollie Burbank.
"It makes me sick," Burbank said.
The home that's been in Burbank's family for three generations had some uninvited guests all while she, her husband Sam and two children have been stationed at Fort Hood.
"They just walked in trying to take over my house and that's just not right," she said.
Sam, an eight-year veteran soldier, just returned from a third tour in Iraq.
Sheriff's deputies say 30-year-old Faylisa Bailey and 47-year-old Johnny Bell had been living in the home, and that's not all.
"It just hit me hard, I mean all this stuff was out in the yard," Burbank said.
They were trying to make some money at the same time. It was a relative who actually tipped off the homeowner as they were passing by and saw a recliner chair, a table, even a mattress, all in the front yard and for sale.

Effin’ dirtbags, they need no less than a mandatory 25 year sentence cleaning up the sides of highways for .50 an hour, with all proceeds going to their victims. Hey, that’s only $46,800 a year for the two of those meth heads, let the State of Texas pay the victims that $46,800 up front, and then the convicted perps can pay back Texas during their stay down at Huntsville Unit.

The local news video clip says that the couple is already out on parole for a prior drug offense so they are headed back to prison for sure. What needs to happen is to leak the news about this caper to the inmates wherever they are going.
Sad that our society has gotten so "insulated" from one another no one noticed anything awry.

Nothing that a blast of 12 gauge 00 buck to the cns would not cure...the ultimate hot shot for the long trip to their dirt nap.
Before that, they need a good dose of lump therapy.
They were promised “stuff” by Mr. Obama and Occupy Wall Street. The Democrats have been calling the military “war criminals,” “baby-killers” and more for a generation. They just took it to its logical conclusion.
The root cause of this scumbag behavior is drugs. How much longer are we as a society going to tolerate the drug scourge that inflicts every city, county, and hamlet in our nation? When will we decide to demand laws that require the death penalty if you deal drugs? Arrest them, try them, and if convicted execute the drug dealers within 90 days. No appeals, no anything, just justice in the form of death.
This will never happen because there are to many “law abiding citizens” (law enforcement, judges, lawyers, courts, rehab centers, etc.) making to much money off the drug problem. They are not serious about solving the problem.
It is folly to see policemen sitting on our interstate highways profiling for a drug dealer. Their efforts when successful are like the flea on an elephant. We hear about it when they bust someone with a large quantity of drugs. Seems to me that if you have a lot of drugs, you probably are carrying a lot of cash as well. We seldom hear about the cash. Ever wonder why? Another source of income for some “law men” doing their job. Perhaps.
Execute the transporters and perhaps they will think twice about hauling the stuff.
I disagree completely. The root cause of this is a total lack of moral compass. You can tell early on what kids in school will turn out like this. They're the ones who steal from other kids, skip school, etc. Drugs are a symptom, not the cause. If drugs were the cause, then everyone who had the opportunity to try drugs would turn out like this, but they don't. And then, when the government tells people that it's the fault of the rich, the worthless parasites (like these two) get the idea that they're owed. So they take. Best cure I know is a couple of rounds.
