I wish it could be. The president who gave the finger to Hillary would plant every innuendo he could find in a willing press. The first debate question? When did you stop screwing basketball players?
She’d handle it, but at great personal pain. It’d be Stevenson/Eisenhower again, only now with snide intimations that she’s a whore. If she does it, that proves she values her country more than life itself.

Yes! Yes! Let’s have a nominee who didn’t even bother to get off her bus and actually run.

She’s really for the country...er...I mean...speaking fees.

She already said No.

All a stunt like this would do is suppress the Conservative voters to ‘wait’ for something else instead of fight with what they have. This would basically let Mittens walk away with the nomination with less opposition.

No thanks. Strategically this is stupid.

Sarah Palin has made her decision. On January 18th, Newt Gingrich accepted a partial endorsement from Sarah Palin, after already accepting a full endorsement from Todd Palin earlier. In return, Newt Gingrich made a very public statement in an interview with Wolf Blitzer on the very public CNN. Newt Gingrich said he will ask Sarah Palin “to play a major role” in his administration if elected President. That, to me, was an unfortunate declaration. It implied Palin could be bought. Those who had become disenchanted with her because she didn’t enter the race, became more disenchanted with her with what appears to be a mutually lucrative deal. No one is complaining about the endorsement, partial or otherwise, it was the implication of a trade-off. It was deafening.
While millions are being spent by Romney and others combined, there probably was no greater “equalizer” than the involvement of the Palins in Gingrich’s campaign. It should have worked in Florida big time. It didn’t. It didn’t work, not because of negative ads run by other camps, but because people are sick to death of being played. They just didn’t come out to vote. That is a real fear in the Republican party all through history...especially with Bush the Elder and Dole. It was only with GW that the base was energized. It would have been energized with Sarah, one way or another, but she gave it away. She made her choice (even considering her family explanation)and now she is a celebrity with the ability to draw crowds. That’s all. That’s enough.

I've been a big Sarah fan before she came on the national scene.

I was following her when she first got elected in Alaska but Sarah ain't coming this time.

She took too much of a beating the first time, and she's now content to kibitz from the safety of Wasila, by the fire place.

I'm not blaming her, it's just my observation.

She has a nice FOX contract, has to talk 2-3 times a week for 20 minutes, and is laughing all the way to the bank.

Why throw that away?

Patience my son.

Brokered Convention

A brokered convention is a situation in United States politics in which there are not enough delegates ‘won’ during the presidential primary and caucus elections for a single candidate to have a pre-existing majority, during the first official vote for a political party's presidential-candidate at its nominating convention.

Once the first ballot, or vote, has occurred, and no candidate has a majority of the delegates’ votes, the convention is then considered brokered; thereafter, the nomination is decided through a process of alternating political horse-trading, and additional re-votes.[1][2][3][4] In this circumstance, all regular delegates (who, previously, were pledged to the candidate who had won their respective state's primary or caucus election) are “released,” and are able to switch their allegiance to a different candidate before the next round of balloting. It is hoped that this ‘freedom’ will result in a re-vote resulting in a clear majority of delegates for one candidate.

Step 1: GOP elitists hand-pick their boy.

Step 2: GOP elitists assist lib media and DNC operatives to pick off Republican candidates one by one. Cain, Perry etc.

Step 3: GOP elitists enlist liberal 'Republican' media (Drudge, Coulter, etc) to trash any other possible contenders.

Step 4: GOP elitists rig national convention for Romney. DNC laughing in their shoes. This time, NO SARAH PALIN. GOP elitists hand-pick VP 'moderate'.

Step 5: DNC and liberal media begin death knell for Romney. Compare RomneyCare, Wall Street, and Mormonism to All-American Obama for the little guy. GOP elitists scratching heads wondering how this all went wrong! Polls show Obama in LANDSLIDE re-election as lib media pats themselves on backs for a job well done.

Step 6: GOP elitists hand down instructions: NO CRITICISM OF OBAMA!! Would be interpreted as racist. Fall 'debates' clearly won by Obama as media portrays his brilliance over Romney.

Step 7: Romney loses all but 2 states. GOP as party ceases to exist but it doesn't bother GOP elitists since they still have job and lots of money. They laugh as America goes down the toilet.

Step 8: Socialist dictator Obama takes control. Throws out Constitution. Now has mandate to impose Communism. Conservatives are singled out for IRS audits, arrest, jail. Martial law imposed. Borders flood wide open. Depression hits. Obama plays 600 rounds of golf and laughs as country is destroyed. A good eight years. But wait. He's NOW dictator for LIFE!

Thanks McLame!

Palin’s decision to get out was based on the age old #1 reason politicians decide to run or not: money. The truth is she didn’t have any money in the bank to run for a national office like POTUS. Wall Street would NEVER contribute to her, and if you’re going to run for POTUS you need to have scores of huge backers to financially prop you up for the long long haul. The Republican Party Establishment had ZERO interest in seeing her nomination - they’ve fully cast their lot with Mitt RomneyCare, who WILL (regrettably) be the nominee and who WILL lose in the general election, period.

So it’s really about money. And she may be right that her influence will be to support TEA Party type candidates throughout the nation running for Congress. She’s still a huge draw for TEA Party constituents. And it could be interesting to compare the audiences where she appears and the audiences where Mitt RomneyCare appears.
