Tommy as Governor did a lot of good for Wisconsin, considering the legislature he had to deal with. If he had tried to play the game as a hard-nosed right-winger, which he is not, not much of benefit to the people of Wisconsin would have been accomplished.
He is the epitome of a highly accomplished elected holder of high public office who came from a small town in the middle a very rural area, a man from whom for that reason most people wouldn’t have expected much. The village of Elroy can rightly be proud of its famous son.
But, fellow Dairylanders, please find someone more consistently conservative to send to the U. S. Senate.
Amen.

I totally agree. I also have a problem that Tommy left WI vulnerable to the likes of Jim Doyle for the next 8 years when he went to play in Washington, DC as HHS director, where he did no good.
Then, he refused to run for Senator when the Tea Party BEGGED him to. Thankfully, Ron Johnson stepped up to the plate and we have a real advocate in DC. Now, when nobody cares because we have other good candidates to take Herb Kohl’s seat, NOW he comes back. Thanks, but no thanks.
