It floors me that in reality television, Muslims are portrayed as normal, middle-class average Joes and Janes while Americans are portrayed by Paris Hilton and the Kardashian Sisters.

Good point. Reality TV completely distorting the public's perception of reality.

True, but that effect is not new... it's the reason I stopped having a TV in the house in 1975, nearly 40 years ago. Haven't missed much of real lasting value, and now anything I want can be found on the internet without dealing with the noise.

TV is all about distortion. That's its purpose. Well, that, and selling soap.
