Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain endorsed Newt Gingrich for the GOP nomination late on Saturday – at the same time accepting a position as the former House Speaker’s tax reform chairman."It is time for conservatives and Republicans to refocus their attention on the ultimate mission of defeating President Obama," Cain said. "I believe Speaker Gingrich is the bold leader we need to accomplish this mission."

This endorsement is listed on Drudge, in the middle column, in SMALL PRINT.

Why’s anyone go to Drudge at this point? Delete that BS from your bookmarks.

This is good for Gingrich. For me, I finally came to support him after his endorsement by Dr. Sowell.

In my book, if Thomas Sowell thinks something is a good idea, it is. He has a very broad and well supported logical ability, and his endorsement was enough to focus my opinion.

How I wish either Dr. Sowell or Allen West would run for the Presidency. Those are two candidates that I, as a conservative, would stand up and cheer for.

Yes, in my opinion. I am disappointed in Ann Coulter, because there are so many things she is dead on about. I will admit that I have never been a fan of Drudge, and visit it once or twice a year. It doesn’t resonate with me.

I will long be grateful for the blue dress, though.

“This endorsement is listed on Drudge”

What is this “Drudge” thing you mention? I have no idea what you are talking about.

I know Sowell has defended Gingrich, but has he actually made an endorsement? I can’t find a reference online.

Just so long as Gingrich didn’t promise to push that 9-9-9 plan. I wonder what it means that Cain is his “tax reform chairman” — I assume it’s a campaign position, since there aren’t really “chairmen” of “tax reform” in the executive branch, and as others said earlier, we wouldn’t want more czars.

OK, I'm guessing this is as close to an "endorsement" as I can find.

Choosing Gingrich:

There are no guarantees, no matter whom the Republicans vote for in the primaries. Why not vote for the candidate who has shown the best track record of accomplishments, both in office and in the debates? That is Newt Gingrich. With all his shortcomings, his record shows that he knows how to get the job done in Washington.
I have great respect for Sowell, and I'm surprised I missed this -- although it was December 30th, and I wasn't really reading much online during the week after Christmas.

The more I think about it, the more I think this really could be a case of lib gay blackmail against Drudge:

“Play nice and cover the pro-Gay candidate with favor, or the video we made of your oh-so-Conservative behavior the other day with that friendly Personal Trainer gets released to your very conservative readership...”

I mean Drudge was ALREADY on the hook for the Monica mess, and that got them super pissed.

I really think maybe Matt has been comprimised and now finds himself in a spot where he CANNOT cover Newt with anything over than smears.

Nice to see Herman Cain endorse him before Florida, when it matters. If Cain endorsed Romney, Drudge would have it as his top news.

Where’ve you been ak? We’ve had numerous comments/threads all week on Drudge’s disgusting lovefest for all things Romnuts.
Many of us are boycotting the site from now on.
