The Hill: Romney solid in new Florida poll
The Hill: GOP12 ^ | 1-26-12 | Christian Heinze

Posted on 01/26/2012 10:35:44 AM PST by tcrlaf

Surveys keep coming in showing Mitt Romney wresting control of Florida from Newt Gingrich.

The latest -- a Monmouth University poll of Florida.

1. Mitt Romney 39%

2. Newt Gingrich 32%

3. Rick Santorum 11%

4. Ron Paul 8%

The internals show the typical gaps. Men pick Gingrich by 5%, but women go massively to Romney (19% lead over Newt).

Newt does better with those who call themselves "very conservative" but Mitt does best with the more moderate set.

Gingrich leads by 13% among evangelicals.

There's some good news for Mitt on the tea party front. He and Gingrich are tied among those who support the tea party movement. But... among those who strongly support it, Newt beats Romney by 25%.

This is the fourth straight poll showing Romney beating Newt in Florida, and he's now taken the lead in the RCP average.

The attack from all sides is working, I fear...

Imagine what's going to happen when this same media turns on Romney.

It's sad, but the Sheeple really do follow what the Magic Talking Box they stare at all day tells them to.

Let’s see how solid it is after the debate tonight. This ain’t over and I don’t buy these “solid” push polls!

Imagine what's going to happen when this same media turns on Romney.

Considering that by that time I won't have a dog in the race, I'm going to pop some popcorn, crack open a cold one, and enjoy the fireworks.

Next step: We primary every single Republican who has endorsed Romney in the primaries. Every single one is going to be unemployed.

Timing is everything. And I don’t think this is accurate.

Rush is jumping the shark too as we speak.

He is supposedly just reporting on the hit pieces on Newt today.... But he is also injecting comments about Snerdley’s jaw on the ground and his “surprise” at some of the stuff that is coming out.
Opinions via association.,,voice inflections.
A caller is taking him to task.

“The attack from all sides is working, I fear... “

Is this all they’ve got...all these attacks and all he has is a relly, really soft 3 or 4 point.

Ha! ha! Romney is in BIG BIG TROUBLE...!!!!

Like what do these idiots think they are going to do if Romney wins?

They think they have some real power because of the primaries, but in the general, the MSM will kick their sorry asses to the corner and will no longer care what Drudge, Coulter, NRO, and Rush thinks about anything.

They will go basaltic on Romney, and they will be nothing more than some whiny jokers crying about how biased the press is, how mean Obama is to Mitt, and why Romney is sucking so badly on the trail.

Looks like Romney is a little ahead right now. If he wins by less than 5 points, he doesn’t destroy Gingrich and the fight moves on. Likewise if Gingrich beats Romney by less than 5 points, it doesn’t destroy Romney and the fight moves on. If either has a big win (5 to 10 points), it will seriously hinder the other in terms of money unless they can keep it together.

Santorum looks like he is finished in any serious way after Florida, barring a miracle.

We are still close enough. A good performance tonight, and some defections from the Santorum people that realize that Rick is not in this, and this can be done.

5 days is more than enough.

In all the years of visiting the Drudgereport, I have not seen so many links to hit pieces on anyone the way he is going after Newt now. Not Clinton, Lewinsky, Janet Reno, Alqada, Sadam, Ahmadinajab, Obama, nobody!

I left a note on his site explaining why I’ll never go to it again. Not that it matters any, but really!

I quit listening to Rush over 15 years ago when I got a computer and could get the news on the internet The few times I tuned in since only re-inforced my decision

He won't take a stand on the candidates and talks from every angle then declares he was right all along

Big Blowhard

He should either get the facts on these bogus attacks or quit repeating them

No doubt...all of these attacks show clear signs of desperation...!

The marxist camp of Mitt Romney has really got to be sweating....!

I think the maxrist will have his a$$ handed to him tonight for all the lies he and his marxist budddies in the media are peddling.

The real tell is Rick Santorum still at 11%. Rick has been smacking Newt hard and it’s gotten him nowhere, but it has helped Mitt Romney. At some point, there is no denying this - even from RS himself.

RS, you’re at only 11% and no one’s even bothered to attack you yet. Take a hint?

Matt Drudge and Matt Rhoades are apparently “butt budies.” Rhoades is the “oposition research” guy for Mitt and he shoots all these things out to his dear friend Drudge.

Wait until the polls following tonight’s debate.

I predict:
Romney will attack Gingrich and it won’t go over well.
Newt will attack Obama and the folks will love it.
Wolf will go after Newt and Newt will deflect.

Betting Newt + 5 by Saturday.

Is anyone keeping a master list of every politician and media or public figure who has endorsed Romney or Newt? Would like to have it for future reference.

Drudge has never been a conservative as far as I know, probably a libertarian...

http://gawker.com/5200009/drudge-i-do-not-love-sex-with-men

Drudge: ‘I Do Not Love Sex With Men’

4/6/2009

Drudge has never been said to particularly relish his homosexuality or embrace it; in fact his gay romantic/sexual side has been described (when alleged) as conflicted and awkward.

David Brock, the former right-wing writer, wrote in his memoir Blinded by the Right about a “scary” date in which Drudge, after bringing Brock flowers and navigating the Santa Monica gay strip “like a pro,” stepped on a competing suitor’s foot “really hard” (in Drudge’s purported words) in a nightclub to scare him away from Brock.

Alec Baldwin stated that Drudge made an advance on him in an ABC Studios hallway, a proposition that had “kind of a creepy quality to it.”

Drudge denied he was gay to the Miami New Times in 2001, even as he launched into a disquisition on (as the New Times put it) “the reigning DJ king of gay circuit parties” and summarized his nightlife thusly: “I go to straight bars, I go to gay bars.”
