OBAMA HAS HEATED ARGUMENT WITH AZ GOV Wed Jan 25 2012 18:33:56 ET

POOL REPORT

President Obama arrived in Phoenix at 3:15 pm local time, finding the chilly weather of Iowa giving way to sunny skies and temperatures in the high 60s.

He stepped off Air Force One at 3:28 pm and was greeted by Gov. Jan Brewer. She handed him a handwritten letter in an envelope and they spoke intensely for a few minutes. At one point, she pointed her finger at him.

Afterwards, your pooler spoke with the governor.

"He was a little disturbed about my book, Scorpions for Breakfast. I said to him that I have all the respect in the world for the office of the president. The book is what the book is. I asked him if he read the book. He said he read the excerpt. So."

Asked what aspect of the book disturbed him, Brewer said: "That he didn't feel that I had treated him cordially. I said I was sorry he felt that way but I didn't get my sentence finished. Anyway, we're glad he's here. I'll regroup."

On the letter, she said it was personal letter asking him to sit down with her to discuss the "Arizona comeback."

She said she "reiterated an invitation that I've extended to him before with regards to coming to arizona and going to the border with me." She said she would take him to lunch.

"We've had a remarkable comeback here and I want to share that with him."

She said the president brought up the book.

"I thought we probably would've talked about the things that were important to him and important to me, helping one another. Our country is upside down. Arizona was upside down. But we have turned it around. I know again that he loves this country and I love this country."

It was clear from the moment they greeted one another that this would not be a run-of-the-mill encounter between the president and a local official. At one point, she was pointing her finger at him and at another, they were talking at the same time, seemingly over each other.

He appeared to walk away from her while they were still talking, and she confirmed that by saying she didn't finish her sentence.

When Brewer spoke with your pooler, the AP and an NBC producer for several minutes afterwards, she appeared a bit flustered and taken aback by the conversation. Asked if she was, that's when Brewer said, "I'll regroup."

BO hates the governors of the states of our nation.

He hates Brewer (AZ), Jindal (LA), Perry (TX).

He hates any governor who has real concerns about his/her state and its welfare.

"I said to him, you know, I have always respected the office of the president ...

Whatever she said exactly was probably well said by her.

The quote above is quite poignant. If I were to say to someone at FR, referring to their role rather than their person, "I always respected someone who posts on FreeRepublic...", it's quite different and telling from "I always respect you...". It's a nice dig that she made, and happy to hear she said it to his face. It in a round-a-bout way just says she has no respect for the current occupier of the president's office.

Once again, our GOP woman has bigger balls than the guys. None of our men would’ve taken on Hussein face-to-face.

“BO hates the governors of the states of our nation.

While Obama announciates education reform in a state of the union message the lying fraud who’s children attend a private school and nixed DC charter schools has done just the opposite to a state and its governor who has instituted these reforms.”

For example Walker of Wisconsin. Here Obama sent his minions to organize and fund a two year ongoing battle costing this state big money. Organized and supported a phoney protest that so far has cost the state millions in damages to state property particularly its capitol and grounds. Millions in re-call election costs which are mounting because Walker has done what Obama in his 2012 state of the union claims needs to be done.
It’s time to judge Obama not by his pronouncements but this socialist/Marxist by his deeds.

He hates anyone who has lighter skin than he does, and that goes for the Wookie too! Martin Luther King’s Dream means nothing to them.”I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”. Means nothing to them.

I agree. I truly believe that at his core his actions are all about ‘payback’ for social ‘crimes’ that didn't happen but that he in his simplistic and flawed ideological worldview is convinced about.

His (in)Justice Dept is suing our state over our illegal immigration problem and he is whining about her ‘not being cordial’ in her book???? We have a petulant kindergartner in charge. But I guess we already knew that.

Obama is a much worse president than Jimmy Carter. Though Carter was stupid...Obama is pure evil.

I see! So the stain - in his warped, twisted, narcisitic, tiny little mind, sees the Governor of a state as a "local official"!

I'm sure the other 49 Governors are really gonna be happy about that!
