UGA Football Recruit denied because he's undocumented and illegal immigrants
Atlanta Journal and Contitution ^ | 1/25/2012 | Chip Towers

Posted on 01/25/2012 12:19:56 PM PST by NoDRodee

relatively new Georgia Board of Regents policy regulating the admission of undocumented students and illegal immigrants has prevented a football recruit from gaining admission to the University of Georgia.

Chester Brown, a 6-foot-5, 340-pound offensive lineman from Hinesville, committed to the Bulldogs in July, but he confirmed to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and several other media outlets late Monday night that he was withdrawing his UGA commitment “for personal reasons,” declining to elaborate

However, a variety of people with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed to the AJC on Tuesday that Brown’s change of heart was because his admissions application to UGA was rejected because of a controversial Board of Regents policy that was adopted in October 2010

This is a fair approach and I think all states can adopt this.
However it won’t stop the Dream act.
WE must still work to make sure that doesn’t pass

Lol. From another article:

'Chester Brown declared his intention to go to the University of Georgia way back in July. July 15, to be exact.

It's a date he isn't likely to forget, since he was so excited about attending UGA that he had the date tatooed on his arm.'

Ok...the real story here in Georgia is...

He tested out really well (Physically) for the recruiters. The film on him is somewhat impressive. It was one of those recruiting moves where the coach thinks that they have found a diamond in the rough...Michael Oher comes to mind...but this kid is more rough than diamond in terms of talent

He would very likely be so far down the depth chart as compared to the players already at UGA he would be lucky if he ever played and he said he wants to play every game (these are his words)

Prior to the UGA offer he had already told Tulane that when the time came to commit he would go there.

He would be a good catch for Tulane.

Thnaks for the info
but as an illegal he could not be given a scholarship, right?

I think he was allowed to decommitt to save face.
Tulane is private and likely can take illegals

Your post is fine, what I meant is what is THEIR problem exactly.
The law worked, I consider this good news.
If he wants to play, at least get a valid visa first.

Sometimes my replies are directed at the the person or situation posted about, or as a reply to the thread as a whole, not necessarily the person posting the initial entry.

My understanding is UGA admissions asked for birth Certificate and he and his family can't come up with it so UGA denied his admission

BO will pass amnesty between the time he is thrown out of office and when the stench is cleared from the White House.

“BO will pass amnesty”
no doubt he would try but it would not stand

he can’t pass it alone. he can try an EO but that would get shot down

U like though that you feel confident 0dumbo WILL get kikced out.
