You see the pattern here, I could go on. It's not the snubbing it's the President that is snubbed that makes the difference.

Exactly right.

How many people who are unhappy with Obama or dislike him would still accept a presidential invitstion to the White like this one?

Not that it would ever happen for me, but I would get great enjoyment out of saying “HELL NO !!!!”

Likewise, I would refuse, and make my reasons for refusing quite plain.

Yes he did and there are plenty of stories on it too.
John Elway's decision to skip the Broncos' trip to the White House continues to be the subject of much controversy in Denver. The team reported he skipped it because of a knee exam. Elway, who apparently was a no-show because he's not a fan of President Clinton, did have the exam, but it turns out he was "recuperating" on the golf course on the day his teammates were at the White House. Elway has since left for a vacation in Europe and was not available for comment, but coach Mike Shanahan said: "John's been to the White House before. It's not like his first time."

But the Office of the President does require a certain amount of respect.

That went out the window the day "Lewinsky" became a verb.

Well good and I’m glad the boards I’m reading aren’t representative of the fan base. The Pens boards aren’t representative of the people in the stands either (Pens fans gave a standing O to Ryan Miller over Crosby after the Olympics).

A great player like Thomas should play where he’s appreciated.

You are absolutely right and James Harrison agrees.

"Harrison will bypass the traditional ceremony, just as he did when the Steelers were honored by President George W. Bush at the White House in June 2006.

"Why is it a big issue now that I'm not going if it wasn't a big issue the last time?" Harrison said Tuesday after an offseason practice." ESPN

It was mentioned on the radio yesterday that Larry Bird skipped at least 1 WH championship ceremony as well during the 1980’s.

Snub RR? FU too, Larry. The next time I’m in Faneuil Hall and I walk by your sneaker “memorial”, I’ll have a phlegm chunk to deposit on it.

I never heard one word about Fanny Ramirez or Epstein skipping both WH visits.

Guess ESPeeN didn’t find it newsworthy.

Then end of Fanny’s career including his short stint in Chicago was an embarrassment.

“I never heard one word about Fanny Ramirez or Epstein skipping both WH visits.”

Read today’s Howie Carr, he nails this perfectly:

Ya gotta love Howie. Been listening to him since Jerry Williams took him under his wing. Remember the Tuesday “Governors Meeting” Barbara Anderson, Howie and Jerry? Good stuff. And boy was Jerry right about the big dig. Too bad he can’t see just how right he was.

I think the people are waking up, as shown in 2010. We will win in 2012 big time.

“Hypocrisy reigns supreme in politics.”

And it works...as long as the “D” is next to the name.
