Mitt will be tough to get rid of, with all his money. He could be counting on getting the votes in California, Pennsylvania and New York,, so that he can get enough delegates to win, even if the party base doesn't want him. Some states have open primaries, and he might be able to pile up some delegates in those places.

I have been complaining for a long time that states that don't have a prayer of voting for the Republican nominee in the general election should have a far reduced say in who the nominee is. Who cares what California thinks, that state will not vote GOP no matter what. A California Republican's vote should be worth 25 percent of a Texas Republican's. And I say that coming from California.

The party wouldn't create such a system, because the RINOs that run the party know it contributes to keeping the establishment in power.
