"It's a split decision," the newspaper said, citing a party official in the state. There are too many holes in the certified total from the caucuses to know for certain who won, it said.
When Romney was declared the winner, it was a "squeaker." When Santorum comes out the winner, the process "has holes."

This past November, there was a school levy on the ballot in my area. On election night, it was up by 20 votes. After the recount, it lost by 34. We didn’t decide to split the difference and allow them to raise our taxes by half of what they wanted.

What a wimp out, amateur hour performance by the Iowa GOP. “Missing data” from eight locations?? This whole sorry affair stinks.

Romney-the-RINO LOST in IOWA, but the State-Run-Media can't admit it, now will the Establishment Republican Elite (Romney-the-RINO is "The Chosen One").

OK.. so when Mittens wins by 8, it`s a “victory.” Santorum wins the recount and it`s a “split decision.” Really, GOP???

Speculations now are superfluous—the GOP RINO elite establishment and the DNC are in cahoots to FORCE WILLARD DOWN OUR THROATS!!!
I like Santorum better but I may have to vote for Newt Saturday just to stop Mitt!

I missed the other Santorum/Romney story already in breaking. This thread doesn’t need to be in that category.

So when Romney was ahead by 8 votes, he was the winner.
Now with Santorum winning by 34 votes, it’s a tie.
LOL!

citing missing data from eight precinctsSounds pretty inept. With months of attention placed on Iowa, this happens? Thanks a lot Iowa.

What gives with all these "squeaker" elections where "additional votes" were found in someone's trunk?
The ballots should never leave the polling place without - at least - a preliminary count, in front of multiple witnesses.
The likes of the obama regime is killing the election process in America, and someone had better straighten it out before we become a full dictatorship, which may well happen if obama is re-elected.

A caucus is a lousy way to select delegates.
Iowa is a lousy place to select anything except the token yahoo who demands ethanol subsidies from the gov’mint.
It is not God’s country. It is not the heartland. It is a bunch of pretentious jerks pretending they have a clue who is best qualified to serve as president based upon who kisses their @sses the most for a year or so.
We belittle historical courtiers who s*cked up to kings to curry favor yet expect our presidential candidates to do the same to the Sun King wannabes residing in Iowa. B.S.
It’s time for Iowa to be the 50th state to vote and they should learn how to operate a GOP primary, preferably one that disallows Democrats and “independents” from voting in it.

Let's see if I got this straight....
First vote....mittens has 8 more than ricky....
Iowa newspapers: "Romney WINS!!!"
Recount...
mittens has 34 fewer votes than ricky....
Iowa newspapers: VOTE IS A TIE!!
Uh....I don't get it...I surely don't.
Or....is Iowa trying to convince the nation that they really are as big a joke as the rest of us think they are?
To: edpc
Wow where is the Drudge screaming headline ??
I forgot Matt is for mittens .
Thanks Coulter !

If Romney wins by 8... it’s a HISTORIC victory!
If Romney loses by 34... it’s a split decision!
I hate the media, the RNC, and Romney. The whole lot of them are not worth a bucket full of spit!
To: edpc
Both Iowa and New Hampshire are reliably democrat states. It’s way past time for the Republican party to allow only reliably republican voters to choose their own candidate.

Bottom line... Romney's no better than McCain/Obama. MO
