Rush Limbaugh broadcasts on Clear Channel. Clear Channel is owned by Mitt Romney
Examiner ^ | January 12, 2012 | Angel Clark

Did you know that many of the talk radio hosts that you listen to on a regular basis use the same company to broadcast their shows? Clear Channel boasts names like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and even Coast to Coast AM!

Michael Savage is TRN, but is on a lot of Clear Channel stations.

Clear Channel is the largest owner of radio stations in the United State [...]

Did you know that Clear Channel is owned (in large part) by Bain Capital?

On Friday, November 17, 2006, Clear Channel announced that it was going private and selling off almost one-third of its radio assets... The buyers, led by Bain Capital Partners and Thomas H. Lee Partners, agreed to pay $26.7 billion for the company.

Bain Capital was founded by Mitt Romney. Mitt is retired now, but he still profits from Bain Capital according to the New York Times.

Clear Channel Communications is a privately owned company controlled by the private equity companies Bain Capital Partners LLC and Thomas H. Lee Partners LP. Clear Channel was sold for $18.7 billion in cash plus the assumption of $8 billion in debt. The transaction closed on July 24, 2008. The operating company which technically owns Clear Channel is called CC Media Holdings, Inc.

Think about that the next time you're flipping channels on the radio and realize that Rush Limbaugh calls the candidates "Romney", "Non-Romney", and "Loony"...

Why do these other candidates get called "Non-Romney"?

Do you think you'll be hearing about this story in most of the media sources you frequent?

Then it's up to you to get the word out. (Especially since by sharing tips like this I help cement that I won't ever become one of those big names in talk radio)

You are wrong because as Rush tried to defend Bain; he hurt Newt. Rush knows Newt is not anti business. He went overboard (for 2 days!) He had to see what he was doing would hurt Newt. Why can’t he come out for Newt or Rick S. Romney is a liberal.

You are naive about the media business. Media content always has and always will be primarily determined by the owners. That is why most thoughtful people today have turned of their TV’s and no longer subscribe to newspapers. I am sorry that you feel it is “tinfoil” to distrust the media.

I heard rush talk about the ownership issue weeks ago also. I agree that rush probably doesn’t dance for anyone but himself. However, I would like to know when Bain bought their share of CC. Was the Romney team trying to cross all the T’s and dot all the I’s. I think the sale was early this fall.

“Paulbots believe that — no matter what happens — if Ron does not win the nomination, it is PROOF of a conspiracy.”

LOL. Ron Paul was with Rush defending Romney and Bain on this. Where did all the former Newt supporters go?

The facts are Liberal Romney becomes the Republican nominee .... he and his sychophants need to be prepared for 24/7 bashing of his ilk. Just like Free Repbulic bashes Zero 24/7, we will continue to bash Romney for his Conservtive herasy.

Know that Romeny supporters will continue to be banned on Free Republic Infinity.

Romney will NEVER have the support of Free Republic. WE WILL BASH ROMNEY as much as we BASH OBAMA.

Romney will LOSE and lose big in the general. ROMNEY will continues to be based on Free Republic because he is a stealth liberal hack worthy of the shun.

Ron Paul is a Liberal Democrat who has been in stealth mode all these years.

That is a fact. That Ron Paul is allowed to participate in Republican primaries is a joke.

Ron Paul is a Democrat and that is a FACT.

Rush did not buy up Clear Channel.

I have no idea what you're talking about (but then, neither do you) but he probably has enough money to buy it up if he felt like it.

Bain bought Clear Channel in 2008. I find it hard to believe that Bain would not profit from a Romney presidency (admittedly that is speculation, but corruption is the rule rather than the exception these days).

Who is your guy? Ron Paul or Romney?

Free Republic has more cache than Rush Limbaugh. Maybe not in the Main Steam media, but rest assured anyone in politics follows Free Republic.

And what is Free Republic’s 2012 position? It is anti - Romney. The fact that Free Repbulic, (the website that ended Dan Rather’s career in real time) will give equal bashing opportunities to Romney as much as we give bashing opportunities to bashing Zero 24/7 is a FACT.

How is Romney going to handle FreeRepbublic.com bashing him during the Regular election?

Hmmmm. Jim Robinson is in favor of Newt Gingrich... Romney hacks on the other hand get banned daily if they support Romney.

Romney LOSES EITHER WAY. CONSERVATIVES can’t stand ROMNEY. HA

Free Republic is ANTI-ROMNEY.

That will NEVER change. Poor little Romney and his minions....

The most popular Conservative website bans his supporters. They attempt to post in such a manner to not out them for weeks on end, and then that one post exposes their support for Romney which gets them banned on Free Republic.

Romney Supporters need to stay off Free Republic forever. We don’t like him and will never vote or support him.

If it were Romney and Zero in the general election, we will choose none-of-the-above.... Which will result in Romney losing.

Zero will likely get impeached in his 2nd term, so who cares. Romney supporters will FOREVER be banned on freerepublic.com

Newt will always be more worthy of the microphone over Rush.

RUSH has been disgusting with his treatment of Newt. DISGUSTING.

Some of you anti-Mitt people are nuttier than squirrel poop!

Mitt Derangement Syndrome, clear and simple. It is great to point out differences, raise concerns, ask questions and thoroughly vet all candidates. This is how a primary election works. To post silly conspiracy theories and call candidates insulting names does nothing but discredit the person acting in such a delusional and hateful manner, and by extension discredit this site. Freerepublic.com may have lost it's relevance as a political discussion forum. Back in the day freerepublic was one of the most important websites for political discussion.
