Whoops! Little legal loophole left behind by the Liberal government when same-sex "marriage" became legal back in 2004. The issue is basically residency: these "marriages" are legal and valid in Canada, but this couple can't obtain a divorce in their home jurisdiction because the marriage isn't recognized in the first place, and they can't obtain one in Canada because they haven't lived in Canada long enough.

If I ran things, I'd be tempted to leave this one alone rather than waste money trying to "correct" it. That's what you get for failing to do your due diligence. You make your bed, you lie in it...

I thought same sex “marriage” was supposed to create saintly queer marriages, rainbows, and skittle-pooping unicorns.

What happened?

Green alligators and long neck geese,
Humptiback camels and some chimpanzees,
Cats and rats and elephants
but sure as your born, you’re never gonna see no unicorn.

I am very interested to see the statistics on gay marriages, gay divorces, domestic violence, etc.. when they are available.
