I expect that a number of Marines directly involved will be disciplined for this - and I have no opinion on that, not having served in the Marine Corps. But I would say that the civilian leadership of the DoD needs to take some hits too. Isn't it Leon Panetta's responsibility for controlling the presence of digital video equipment in combat zones? Wasn't Abu Ghraib about 6 years ago? Is there no responsibility for this at the highest levels?

Everyone knows that young people have a totally malformed sense of privacy and propriety when it comes to the internet. Everyone knows that the military is made up of disproportionately, young people. Which is exactly why it is the responsibility of the senior military and civilian leadership to create some effective policy limiting or controlling recording devices in combat zones.

Who will call for Panetta's resignation?

If it comes to that, the left and media will spin it as Gates' policy. Hence, Bush's fault.
