'She makes me want to vomit': Former Marine( about) Gabbie Giffords
Mail Online ^ | 10th January 2012 | Staff

An elderly, former Marine who lost his wife of 54 years in the Tucson mass shootings expressed his anger at fellow victim and Congresswoman Gabbie Giffords.

George Morris, 77, was shot in the leg and back in the attack just over a year ago as he tried to protect his wife from the gunman. Dorothy Morris, 76, was killed after the couple had gone to the Safeway supermarket to quiz Ms Giffords' political opinions. Mr Morris, who describes himself as 'ultra-conservative', even refused a visit from President Obama while he recovered in hospital following the shootings in Arizona.

The couple had gone to the meet and greet at the grocery store to question Congresswoman's support of Obama's policies - including the health-care reform bill.

Mr Morris told the Arizona Republic newspaper his opinion of Ms Gifford and her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly: 'Every time I see them on TV, it makes me want to vomit.'

A number of people were killed that day including a Conservative Federal Judge. But of course, that’s not important to the #s on the Left.

Unfortunately they forgot to let the man have a voice, I thought that we would get more about him and his views but they went back to the general, routine, story.

He raises an interesting point about security ....How much security do legislators usually have?
Was it uncommon for Giffords to do what she did?

I'm sorry about this man's loss, but blaming Congresswoman Giffords for the act of an insane person is idiotic.

His anger is mis-directed and does no good.

I can understand the man's pain (well, the best that anyone but him can), but I don't see how he can justify blaming anyone other than the animal who pulled the trigger.

I do share his feelings about Giffords as a politician and it's disappointing to know she will most likely be re-elected over and over out of sympathy and we will most likely never be rid of her because of it.
I do wish her the best, but I don't believe she's competent to do the job anymore. Even if she's replaced with another Dim, she really needs to go... her disabilities extend beyond physical ones from what I have seen and they keep her from talking in public for a reason.

His anger was primarily directed at Mark Kelly, Giffords’ husband, who has milked the tragedy for all it’s worth as he gears up to run in her stead for Congress.

Right you are funky...

I've know several brain injured individuals and although they lived and recovered their mental capabilities are very poor and I believe the same for Gabby...

I'm sure the retirement of Mark is sufficient to care for her and she needs to step aside...we have enough of brain feeble people serving already..I hope the family considers her mental condition and has her step aside, but I believe her husband will run in her place, they just can't give up the perks...

what a great country we have..or had...

remember to VOYE in November...

Giffords is my non-representing Representative. I’m sorry she was shot but I refuse to put her on a pedestal because of it.

She took some horrible verbal shellackings at theater-setting normal town hall meetings. She did a couple of no-shows (at large venues) and then started these “town hall on the corner” meet and greets, like she was doing the day she was shot. She’d have the people line up and talk to them one at a time.

The one “on the corner” I attended (also at a Safeway in another town) had a line out the door. She said she’d be there for 2 hours. The line was stuffed with SEIU pukes and a few “normal” constituents. She spent a lot of time with the SEIU people, and not a lot of time with those not wearing the SEIU t-shirt. I found her to be rude and untruthful. She told me she was a blue dog democrat and a fiscal conservative. I reminded her that she voted for the stimulus bill. She snapped at me, “We are talking about health care!” and effectively dismissed me, even though there was no announced agenda.

She was accompanied by about 6 or 8 assistants. I didn’t see any obvious security beyond a couple of local police outside the store eying everyone in the line.

They started it when they tried to pin the shootings on Sarah Palin.

The events might have security but legislators do not have personal security. I have seen both of my Senators in airports and restaurants with no escort. One of them very high ranking too.
I would guess Sen majority leader would have security though.

G Giffords was an inconsequential member of the very left wing contingent in congress. She had little to set her apart from any small town school board member. Now she is special and will be reelected in perpetuity like Ted Kennedy.

He should have been armed himself, rather than depending on the Democrat to supply protection.
