So, can we look forward to this being an annual event?

LA Marks Anniversary Of Tucson Tragedy At City Hall

The bell at Los Angeles City Hall rang six times Sunday in memory of those killed in a deadly shooting rampage in Tucson, Ariz. last year.

The event was part of a nationwide commemoration of the one-year anniversary of a deadly shooting rampage that also left 13 wounded, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz.

Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild had asked mayors across the country to commemorate the tragedy.

“And someone spontaneously pulled out a gun and killed 6 people, injured 13 more. So it’s important to remember,” Los Angeles City Councilman Tom LaBonge said.

LaBonge filling in for Mayor Antonio Villairagosa struck the bell at 9:11 a.m. Sunday, which was 10:11 a.m. in Tucson — the time the shootings took place.
