George Romney was a citizen, but like McCain, he was born outside the country.

Actually, Romney's father George would be the one to question about the "natural born citizen" status. I think the record shows that Mitt was born at Detroit back when it was still part of the United States.

There was some discussion of this topic back when Governor George Romney first ran for president in 1968. I don't recall how it turned out because I was a boy at the time and because the campaign never went anywhere. I got hooked on politics later that summer watching the hippies riot at the Democrat convention in Chicago on my grandma's new black & white television set.
