Exactly. I think it's a legitimate fear, that with a President Santorum we'd have yet another 4-8 years of playing social justice crusader around the globe with American lives and treasure (which we don't have—we're broke). He'd probably push the envelope worse than Bush's "compassionate conservative" largesse did. For an indicator of that, see Vote for Foreign Aid by Rick Santorum.
