Dems pushing sand into GOP gears
Daily Caller ^ | January 4, 2012 | Neil Munro

Democratic campaign officials on Wednesday happily tried to pour sand into the GOP’s nomination machinery by deriding Gov. Mitt Romney’s electability and his commitment to conservative policies, by commiserating with Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and with former Sen. Rick Santorum, and by complimenting Gov. Rick Perry.

“People don’t know where Gov. Romney stands today and where he will stand tomorrow, and that’s troubling people in the Republican Party,” said David Axelrod, who has worked as chief political strategist for President Barack Obama since 2008.

Romney is heading into the New Hampshire primary without solidifying his lead, so “he’s got to win by 30 point or so to continue his momentum,” said Jim Messina, Obama’s campaign manager.

The press conference was held the morning after Romney edged out former Sen. Rick Santorum for first place in the Iowa caucuses. This win, although narrow, will help Romney maintain his poll-tested lead in New Hampshire before heading to important primaries in South Carolina and Florida.

Who cares? The GOP’s gears are all but stripped anyway.

It’s astonishing that the current field of assklowns are the best we can pick to govern ourselves. Without exception, they ALL suck. Long and hard.

Despite that, it’s A.B.O. for me in the next election.

I hate picking the lesser of the evils, but here it comes again.

Axelrod using a bit of reverse psychology to help their hand picked opponent rebuild some street cred.

I for one am done voting for the “lesser of two evils”.

If the Repubs pick Mittens as their standard bearer (the white Obama), then I hope the Tea Party can come up with a candidate for Pres this year.

I'll be thereto vote for my reps/senators/etc... but I will no longer cast a vote for an anti-2nd Amendment (and thereby anti-Bill of Rights), big gov’t liberal Repub.

If Mittens is the nominee I can't see how anyone in the Tea Party could even consider him as a reasonable choice.

I'd also like to apologize to the rest of the country for my stupid state of New Hampshire if we pick him to win next Tuesday. Not all of us are Romney-bots, but too many are here in NH.

One could reasonably interpret this faux commiseration as a fear by the Demonrats that an electable Romney may be the GOP candidate.
