If he couldn’t carry Pennsylvannia, why do we expect he would be able to carry the country?

I’ve long maintained if you can’t carry your home state as a Senator, you arent’t going to win the presidency. Just ask Al Gore. If the good people of Tennessee had voted for him we’d been kicking him around for a while instead of Bush.

Romney lost in MA; Gingrich, Paul, Bachmann have never been tested beyond congressional races; Perry has only won in a red state.

Should we just call the whole thing off?...

He carried Pennsylvania twice, including in 2000 when Bush lost the state.

2006 was a bad year for Republicans all over.
